Sorry if i took out some of your favorite civs.I felt that those civs wouldnt suit the game.Archer now attack 1 defense 5
hoplite now phalanx-attack 2 defense 4
spearman now guard
warrior now militia and thats about it.
Oh yeah, i changed so civ names and such.
please comment if you download.
to unzip this you need winzip or winrar.
 
So you took some civs out, changed the stats of a couple units and renamed the warrior to militia. You say that you took the civs out because you felt they wouldn't suit the game. Exactly what game? This is really just Civ with some missing civs and three unit changes. Oh, and you have a map. I guess I'm not seeing how this is really a mod. It's not even a scenario. I suppose it could be a map, but from the look of it, my guess is that you didn't make it, just randomly generated it. So..., so I guess I'm thinking: so what?
 
Maybe you shouldn't release things that take less than 1 hour.
 
Well I bet some people here could make a huge mod in under an hour, thats not the point. The point is.. that this mod has no.. point :crazyeye:

I mean, why don`t those civs fit in? How is the archer with a defense of 5 (!) supposed to be beaten.. Why is the Warrior now called Militia.
 
Valid criticisms all. But the guy's only been here a month. Make sure he knows that what he's hearing is meant in a positive way, and he's not just getting flamed. Probably the most valid criticism is that it might have been better placed in the main forum as a WIP, with a request for suggestions.
 
I`m not trying to flame him, I welcome all new modders (also, everyone is free to post what they want)

That part of my comment was aimed at us. I saw what you guys meant right away; I just think someone new might be overwhelmed without some explicit reassurance in small easy to understand words.

That part of my comment was aimed at him. I notice that most of us have a "wadda ya think?" post or thread before we ever post a "here's my best shot at it".

I guess I'm just insecure enough to prefer a "try this" type comment, rather than a "this sucks, do better", and I know when I've posted a harsh comment or three, there's been weeping and gnashing of teeth in the outer darkness.
 
Umm. I think this is all. Also you forgot to flag the units. Archers are still offensive, and cost the same as guards but have 3 higher defense.
 
I dont see the point of downloading this. You tweaked a few stats, and removed some civs from CIVILIZATION...I dont know if this qualifies as a modpack... =x
 
I have some positive feedback!

I like the name, also archers as a defencive unit is a good idea but it seems over powered at strength 5 and it kind of makes spearmen pointless...
 
He forgot to falg archers for defense so the A.I will be attacking with them. Also here is probaly where he go the idea. http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=223339.
Also it still costs the same as the spearman and there is no longer a ancient offensive unit.
