Post and discus and screenshot from the new expansion here

The full twtter image, showing what looks like a starting floating city with some new units/aliens/ and what looks like new buildings on water tiles

Giant amphibious shrimp??? Wow sold! I guess no one even safe anymore. On land has Siege worm and on navy has this shrimp. :P

I wonder if they are bound like they need to be near water or if they are free roam

The improvements to the left of the city appear to be the same as the current graphics for generator, mine and farm (which is pretty goofy... the same barn and silos as on land but underwater?). The structure below the mine does appear to be new. Almost looks like a crab cage.

There are variety of new resources underwater -- the same as in the other screenshots. Not much can be determined about them, though.

It would be nice to be able to see a higher-resolution version of the image.

hopefully those are just placeholder graphics

I'm really hoping those old improvements on water are stand-ins, it would be silly to use the same models.

Well the barge for the corral probably won't change that's for sure. But hopefully the mine for the blue stone and the water based Firaxite seem like placeholders. If not then it's very very lazy. But wolf beetles changed as did some other things from initial images.

I have to say that generator is the most stupid looking port from the original tile improvements. ( wave generator guys??? )

That killer shrimp though.....

Resources on land and water now. Rivers and more detailed aquatic tiles with depth to them. Maybe the new Shrimp hive/cave in the bottom left? Is this a new biome?

Looks like desert to me.

That's a normal nest it's just in high resolution.

the twitter post says it is the Arid Biome

I wouldn't be surprised if they're the final versions.

They probably want them to look recognizable at a glance after all, it was the same logic behind why the planets can't look "too alien" or else we'll get confused about what's a forest or mountain, etc.

Arid? There's fungal, Desert and lush now unless they released another that I can't access due to Starships being impossible.

Arid is the one you're thinking of when you say "desert."

There is no "desert" biome. There are only Lush, Fungal and Arid.

These are my options for Biomes

Would it matter that I'm not in the US? Guess not.

But regarding the screenshot. Things seem very busy who is blue and green now??

Oh man, i hope that's not final. For energy generators, they could use a floating solar farm design, or a tidal generator, instead of just placing a vertical wind tower on water, how lame. And underwater farms, complete with barns and everything, is just... ugh. I also kinda hoped that underwater mining bases would look more like a sealab or something. Please dont tell me that underwater/floating academies have a green garden, just like the land version  . Frankly that screenshot is depressing.
