RK-01 First Strike First (Warlords)

I'll try te keep everything in mind.
I'll go for the Thebes + Forbidden Palace, it looks the easiest and best option, our second stack isn't too big so i'll start running some military builds in more cities.
I'll play 10 tomorrow-morning, watching movies now (and have to play my turns in Berserks01 too :)).

"Stack isn't too big?" Well uh our current stack of doom is already much more beefy than I use in a normal Prince or Monarch game (when I have cats and CRII,CRIII Macemen)... :lol:

I've played my 10 turns, went pretty good, Hatty is decimated and her empire is cut in 2.
Here is the report...

T1: Tlaxcala: Lighthouse -> Catapult
I decide to start the attack, move our 2 stacks into the territory.

T2: Bombard Pi-Ramesses

T3: Sakae: Trebuchet -> Cross

T4: Capture Pi-Ramesses without any losses :goodjob: .

T5: Teotihuacan: Cross -> Cross
Capture Thebes losing only 2 Catapults
Hatty drops to the last in score

T6: Nottingham: Monastary -> Trebuchet
Vienne: Forge -> Lighthouse

T7: Camu...: Lighthouse -> Library

T8: Sakae: Cross -> Cross

T9: Bibactre: Market -> Lighthouse
Tlaxcala: Catapult - > Trebuchet (I misclick upgrade (CR instead of Drill, so I delete the Cat, srry bout that)

T10: Guilds comes in -> Banking
Teotihuacan: Cross -> Cross
Take Memphis with 0 losses
Trade WM for WM with Roosevelt :D

Ideas & Suggestions
1. Next target is Heliopolis, after that it's a clean-up of Hatty
2. Memphis will give us Marble, which is great...
3. that WM trade nets us a sight of the entire world :D
4. Our next target can be either Mongolia or Zulu, both seem not too hard targets.

I added a funny picture too :) (Shows our Gold :D)

Great merchant sure gave us a ton of gold and made sure there was much rejoicing that turn... :D

Why do you and Codeman get to do all the wars and I get to do all the building? :(

I know you're on baseband and not broadband but I remember when I started doing SG's last year I was also on dialup, so I just had less pics and smaller pics than I have today. :lol:

More builder turns I guess...

after reading your plans...
1. Next target is Heliopolis, after that it's a clean-up of Hatty. We'll take on Zulu next, if they're closer than Mongolia.
2. We may also need 2-3 troops (2 cross 1 cat) per city near Roosevelt's borders in case he backstabs us. Aggressive AI was turned on, after all.
3. Building plans: FP @ Thebes
4. Tech plans: After guilds->banking, we can either go for Chemistry to get Grens or rush to Liberalism (to get Divine Right or Nationhood or Printing Press)
5. We'll probably lose Texcoco (or whatever the town in the north was called) due to culture soon.

Your building good :D
Zulu would be the best target, it nets us the most land/population.
You could also just put some Longbows in cities, they are great city defenders and we can use our troops add the front.
Liberalism sounds good to me, but Grenadiers will get us really quick conuest options.
I noticed Texcoco too, but I didn't care too much :).

Good luck on your turns.

OH YEAH! Longbows, thanks for reminding me we have Feudalism now :D

Will play in 5-6 hours.

I think we should gift Texcoco to the USA to save money. What do you say?
EDIT: Better yet, gift it to Zulu right before the war with Shaka then raze it. That is, if they will accept it. Otherwise, we'll have to give it to the USA now.

Finally some war!

Turn 1:
Send some troops at Pi-Rameses and Thebes towards Elephantine
March towards Heliopolis with 5 crossbows and 5 siege units.
:sleep:

Turn 2:
Vienne: Lighthouse -> Granary
Crossbow defeats Egyptian Archer near Memphis
:sleep:

Turn 3:
Sakae: Crossbow -> Grocer (I told you I'm a builder...)
:sleep:

Turn 4:
Bomb Elephantine to 10%

rk15elephantineme9.jpg

Turn 5:
Tolosa: Market -> Grocer
Bomb Heliopolis to 24%
Bomb Elephantine to 2%
Trebuchet defeats Horse Archer
Trebuchet defeats War Chariot
Crossbow dies to Archer (0.4 left, crap)
Crossbow defeats Axeman
Crossbow defeats Spearman

Turn 6:
York: Heroic Epic -> Granary (yeah, I was excited to produce units but...)
Bibracte: Lighthouse -> Forge
Tlatelcoco: Courthouse -> Granary
Trebuchet defeats Archer
Elephantine taken!

Bomb Heliopolis to 0%
Oliver Cromwell (Horse Archer) is helpless before the might of our mighty Trebuchet!
Catapult destroyed by War Chariot
Crossbow defeats Archer
Crossbow defeats Swordsman
Crossbow defeats Axeman
Crossbow defeats War Chariot
Heliopolis captured!

Gift Texcoco to Roosevelt for a whopping 16gpt savings.

Turn 7:
Reseach: Banking -> Divine Right :smoke:
(Trust me, the Spiral Minaret will save our lives. Besides, York's almost to a Great Engineer)

Turn 8:
Teotihuacan: Crossbow -> Granary

Turn 9:
York: Granary -> Stock Exchange
Nottingham: Hindu Missionary -> Stock Exchange
Tenochtitlan: Courthouse -> Granary
(move troops around, now some defenders at our border cities with Roosevelt)

Turn 10:
Vienne: Granary -> Stock Exchange
Hinduism spreads to Thebes (missionary)
Stacks available:

And here's the military screen...

THE SAVE:

THE PLANS:
London: Sistine Chapel (yeah, it's for denial) -> Stock Exchange (Bank) -> Spiral Minaret (finish it with Great Engineer from York) -> Stock Exchange
Hatty = last city
Shaka = next?
Massive Stock Exchange construction at more prosperous cities
Change some farms into cottages in former Aztec lands (there are too many)

EDIT2:
NO! Charismatic doesn't mean 25% less experience to get a great general!
On a Standard map, it normally costs 90, 180, then 270, etc. experience but on Marathon.

Haven't heard from Codeman yet, but he still has lots of time, i'm going to bed now, ciao :D.
If codeman doenst pick-up tomorrow i will :)

sorry guys. don't feel like playin' right now. need a day to 'compose' myself. my dog/friend died last night. i can not focus right now. i will post later. good night.

srry to hear about your dog...
I'll pick this one up then, take all the time you need Codeman.
I'll play in a couple of hours, I've got to play berserks01 first.

Most boring turns ever :D

T1: :coffee:
T2: :coffee:
T3: :coffee:

T4: Tlaxcala: Treb -> Treb
Tlatelolco: Granary -> Market

T5: Attack Alexandira, lose a Cross at 88.5% odds :mad:

T6: Teotihuacan: Granary -> Treb
Take Alexandria -> Haty is no more (moeha :king: )

T7: :coffee:

T8: Tenochtitlan: Granry -> Cross

T9: Sakae: Grocer -> Cross

T10: Bibactre: Forge -> Grocer

The BIG plan:
1. Kill Shaka :p

Isn't Thebes building the Forbidden Palace yet? It seems to be a poor city in terms of production. If not, since we picked Divine Right we can build Versailles in Thebes instead with the GE and build Minaret sloooowly.

Will play in 3-4 hours.

EDIT: I realized just now, where did we put Axe Killer? Or is that catapult dead?

NO idea about Axe killer.
Thebes is buidling FP, but it's borders will pop soon and then producting will rocket ;)

MY internet seems unable to download that attachment (although everything else seems work perfectly, even the board). Can you perhaps post the game somewhere?

Got it, will play shortly.

While I was still trying to get the save, I played a couple of games. In one, I accidentally left a Warlord unit alone in a base and all hell broke loose. The result...
firststrikewarlordik8.jpg

I was sweating while watching all that happen... :lol:

:hammer: turns. Why are we losing so much money at 50% research? And then there is the question citizens are asking the struggling English economy:

June_whatdoyouwant.jpg

WHAT DO YOU WANT!?

Just recovering from war with Hatty...

Turn 0:
No problems. Wreck a farm near Tlatelcoco (I think) to build a Workshop since it lacks production.

Turn 1:
Move stacks around, build stuff
Roosevelt has completed Notre Dame!

Turn 2:

twoheadedhydradt9.jpg

Divine Right is in, Bibracte becomes a two-headed hydra :D
Islam has been founded in Bibracte!
Research: Divine Right -> Gunpowder
(can't wait for that Great Engineer to become available!)

(from here on in, please enjoy the event logger with comments)

Turn 327, 1571AD:
The borders of Sakae have expanded!

Turn 329, 1577AD:
Islam has spread in London.

Turn 330, 1580AD:
London: Sistine Chapel -> Stock Exchange. Now rebuilding newly conquered lands will be easier.
The borders of Thebes have expanded! (now FP completes faster, just as you predicted)
Roosevelt adopts Bureaucracy!

Turn 334, 1592AD:
Crossbowman defeats Barbarian Axeman... where did that guy come from?

Turn 335, 1595AD:
Research: Gunpowder -> Chemistry
The borders of London have expanded!

Our stacks of doom, feel free to declare war when Forbidden Palace is ready:
