well, world war is definetly going on. last turn Italy was the only country not involved in combat.
this turn eveyone is involved in fighting, and only 1 country didnt initiate attacks.
didnt get orders from Prussia or Britain so had to do those before reading the rest of em. forutunately, only had one set of orders that didnt quite make sense (sent you a PM), interpreted as best i could.
Battles:
Sea C:
the Russians tried to take the British 'colony' on the Mainland. The Vickings had planned on joining the attack on the British fleet, but their ships took longer then expected to build and they never made it to the battle. It seems both the Russian and British ships were designed for heavy attacks, but both lacked a good defence. all 6 ships sunk. The two armies the russians were transporting also sank.
Rolls: 6,6,5 vs 5,4,4
[ooc]the viking ships couldnt join cause they were new so cant join in naval attacks (only defence)[/ooc]
Province 8:
The English gambled on the fact that France wouldnot have enough forces to defend the province AND hold back the Spanish and attacked it with a small force. the gamble paid off.
Province 11:
The new French armies stationed here thought they were ready for anything. They were wrong. The Spanish came in with a force slightly bigger then the defence and destroyed them with little of their own losses.
Rolls: 6,3,3,2 vs 5,2,2 then 5,5,5 vs 3,2
Province 12:
The french launched a massive counter attack on the spanish. Unfortunately the spanish had a large lead in their recrutement and their army was a little bigger then the combined forces of the French. The Spanish had been in the province for a long time and were able to build some effective defencive structure.
Rolls: 6,6,5,5,5,3,2,2,2,1 vs 6,6,4,4,3,3,3,1 then 6,5,4,3,1,1 vs 6,5,1
Province 13:
As a last resort, the french had sent a single army here on the hope that the overly cocky spanish would leave it defenceless. their hope was unfounded and the French met a force 3 times their size. They were easily surrounded and killed by the Spanish defenders.
Rolls: 6,5,4 vs 4
Province 36:
The vickings, having missed the naval battle between Russia and Britain decided to invade Prussia. Their forces outnumbered the Prussian defenders 4 to 1, so the defending general knew his cause was lost, and he personaly led the suicide charge against the invaders.
Rolls: automatic win and loss of 1 army for vickings
Province 37:
The Prussians abandoned province 58 to retake their capitol. it turned out to be a good idea, as their conquered capitol had been left undefended by the russians, and province 58 was not attacked.
Province 34:
The Russians continued thier push west. However, the Prussians had concentrated all their recruitment in this region. The 4 Russian armies met 5 Prussian defenders. The russian morale was on an all time high from the news of the Viking attack on Prussia, and they were able to over come the superior numbers of the Prussians.
Rolls: 6,6,5,4 vs 6,4,3,2,2 then 5,4 vs 4
Province 33:
The Italians decided, that the best way to win a war is to attack two countries who were bitter enemies, "maybe they wont put down their hatred for eachother and ignore our small attacks". This particular province was undefended, so the Italians had no problems taking control.
Province 42:
Inspired by the Carthigians attack on the Turks, the Italians gave it a try. They attacked with everything they could muster. The fight was 6 attacking 5. Unfortunately in Italy's long period of peace their army had become lazy and badly equiped with outdated weapons. They suffered an emberassing defeat.
Rolls: 6,5,5,4,3 vs 3,3,2,2,1,1 then 5,3,2,2,1 vs 5,4
Province 43:
The Austrians had pulled their forces in to defend Viena and left this place undefended. The Russians came in with 4 armies and easily took control.
Province 46:
The Turks tried to take back thier province, but the Carthigians had tricked and bribed enough of the population to recruit a large defencive force. The Carthigian strategy worked like a charm, the locals defended their land with a ferocity previously unseen in the land.
Rolls: 5,4,4,4,3,2,1 vs 6,6,3,3,2,2 then 6,6,6,4,2 vs 4,3[/i]
Sea M
The lone russian ship here had orders to "sink non Russian/Turkish ships". So when the Carthigian armada arived, the Russian captain knew he had no chance but to ram one of the enemy ships. He picked one with an army on board and ran full speed into it.
[/i]Rolls: autobattle, suiceded on ships with army to cause more damage[/i]
Province 48
Another easy victory for the carthigian invaders. Again the province they were attacking was undefended.
Erronious assumptions in orders:
One country sent money to another this turn. The reciever tried to use the money in the same turn. Sorry, cant do that. That money is added to your income for the new turn.
Russia 35
Vikings 27
Britain 22
France 17
Spain 27
Carthage21
Italy 26
Austria -3
Prussia 11
Turkey 13
Austria -3gold: i looked into my own rules and there's nothing telling what happens when you cant pay your upkeep. so i guess this is how it will work:
1st turn you cant pay upkeep, that many armies go hungry.
2nd turn you cant pay upkeep, any armies that went hungry last turn, and you again cant feed them, they starve and die/desert.
so if next turn you're short by 3 then 3 armies will die. if you're short by 5 then 3 will die and 2 more will be hungry. if you're short by 1 then only 1 will die.
