This guy makes a number of videos (eg about Game of Thrones) and speaks of historical accuracy and other stuff. He is pretty lenient, allowing for entertainment, but the trailer for the new movie, Robin Hood, certainly wasn't to his liking. And one can see why...

Video is in a spoiler cause it has one curse word (but it is in the title). No curse words in the video itself :)

Spoiler :

1) Assassin's creed
2) Nottingham was apparently a byzantine city, of the theme Hyperborea
3) speed archery
4) tweed jackets and t-shirts
5) molotov coctails
6) ww1 tanks
7) holy hand grenade launchers
8) bizzare cathedral, looking like a massive prop
9) 20th century bolts, in close up in the trailer itself
10) riot police!

Anyway, this movie looks great
Do you like it then, gov'na?
Use a spoon, cause it'll hurt more.

PS: I think it is very funny that Lionsgate decided to take the ad revenue for this obviously very negative video of their new movie! I think that this is why the youtuber named it thus, assuming he did it later (renamed) :rotfl:

Would like to step in a cinema someday again but the movies make it impossible.

They are laying the ground work for a video game and those must have explosions....

So, Robin Hood meets 300?`
If it gets a sequel, it should be called Robin Hood 2: Robin Hood X-Treme!

Well the studios are making more money than ever with idiotic Marvel adaptations for the brainless, so it's not like they have reason to try hard. I predict movies will keep getting worse.

I also first saw this trailer through Matt Easton. Couldn't care less about sabres but I love hearing him talk about thrusting, fingering and penetration.

Anyway wow. Some of the clothing people wear. I honestly thought he had misunderstood something. I thought this might be a Medieval punk, futuristic something movie. But it is supposed to be medieval England. It's just embarrassing. The city reminds me of Dubrovnik btw.

This movie might turn out to be bad for the sake of being bad....if it is, i may have to see it.:mischief:
No way to be sure until the first reviews of the entire movie come out, not just the trailer.

What the hell did I just watch ? :crazyeye:

It has Taryn Egerton in it, but that's about the mildly positive thing I can say about it.

Um... that has to be the absolute worst thing I've ever seen that purports to have anything at all to do with Robin Hood. And that "patriot arrow" that someone posted upthread is from "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" - which never pretended to be anything but a parody of "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves".

It's even worse than the Kenneth Branagh version of Hamlet (which I've never seen the second part of, since it's so awful).

I'll give it a pass on gunpowder being available, since Robin Hood is post-Marco Polo, and he did see it used in China. But those huge explosions and the weapons? Totally anachronistic.

But tanks? T-shirts and modern suits? T-shirts and modern suits are the first thing that turned me off from nuBSG. If it's supposed to be a period show or a futuristic show, I don't want to see characters who look like anyone walking around in the downtown business district.

It looks like the kind of mishmash created when people try to modernize Shakespeare, but only go part way. This is a piece of <garbage>. If you want to watch explosions and modern crap in Robin Hood, there's an old '60s animated show called "Rocket Robin Hood."

Even Mel Brooks couldn't do a parody on this movie, it seems so bad it'll be its own parody!

People have done modernized Romeo and Juliet, and made something of it. But that was intentional. This is.... modern Hollywood! Expect Robin Hood to be bitten by a radioactive squirrel and acquire some superpower.

They should make this a trilogy
Robin Hood:ninja:
Robin Hood 2: Robin Hood X-Treme!:ar15:
Robin Hood 3: Super Robin Hood Ultra Maximum X-Treme In Space!:scan::borg:
