Excelent work Madscientist! Amazing beeline. I wonder how far away you'de be from the AIs if you hadn't given in to each and every demand.

Those trades helped my research quite a bit! Without the diplomacy it's war and closed tech trading! See the brilliance of Obama (hell I am amazed at the man myself!).
 
This game is just incredible, again. Gifting techs left and right and still you are at the top of scientific food line. Waiting the last segment with anticipation. GOGO mass media and un.
 
Be carefull about having everyone against Joao (especially after you stop being part of the war), Cathy might overtake him AND collect bonus with the rest of the buddha bloc, while you get nothing !

It appears so in this game. Remember that Obama has limited lands (although they are excellent) and has been bulbing like a maniac so that counts for something. War is Notorious for hurting the tech pace until you have an excess of land and can devote specific cities to only science and only military.

Also understand the setup of this game. I am surrounded by friends who hate my biggest threats and thus provide protection. My military is real bad and I am one bad event from possible extermination.

Knowledge has a big reward BUT may come at a price.

We rolled on ahead looking towards the end of this game, let's see where we are at!

First we used of Great Scientist from the last segment to partly bulb electricity. We then got the next GP



NOT and GE, so we once again bulbed more of electricity.

We made many trades and gave into manyr equests as we have done previously

Such as



All AI heavy.

Suffice to say we traded up to Communism and



Obama has now turned America into a State run Empire!

We then finished



And moved onto Radio.

After several more trades and demands, we popped the next GP



Yahoo! We shall definitely be first ti the UN!

Especially since we finished



And moved onto Mass Media

Once we finished Mass Media, we rushed the UN quite a bit with teh GE



AND........



So we managed to build the UN just before 1500 AD! Not bad at all, but where does this get Obama.



Up against Justinian! Rats. Well we had enough votes to control the UN but....



Not nearl enough to win. In fact the next voe appears to give CAthy the edge so we will get some extra votes but NOT enough for a Diplo win!

As you can see.



So where does this exactly leave us!!!!

We can get this trade off with Cathy



Well, I saved here and I am open for suggestions. Do I pull of the trade with Cathy hoping tech deficient Jaoa wins a few more cities?

The tech situation



OK folks, we are dead last in military and it's against OBama's pricipal to launch a full scale war here.

So do we end it with Obama failing to bring home what he promised, or is there some other path that can lead to a UN diplomatic win? Relations with Joaoa and Churchill are completely ruined (see war's are stupid).


What do you all think???
 
Military is not going to work. You could follow the timing of the next election and, about 20 turns before, launch a massive poisoning, health building destroying campaign on Cathy and Justinian. If you think that's not going to cut it or is too risky diplomatically, try to farm a merchant to found sushi and spread it to João. Sell him all your excess fish, clam, etc. and hope he gets big enough to be your opponent.
 
I'd go with the trade or even bribe Ham to attack monty who seems to be backwards which could let him grab a few cities. Oh, and my first post on this forum :)

Espionage is something I have not considered.

As far as Sid's, well Barak Hussein Obama is in State Property which is as close to socialism as we get in this game, so I think he needs to stay there. Then again if I found sids I can switch to Environmentalism and really destroy the American economy.

But I digress.

I will listen to adivce for a day or so and see what I can do, but if there is no reasonable way to win this via the UN I am happy enough to leave Obama's term as RPC chair as finished, not re-elect him, and move on.
 
This is exactly why I took communism from lib and nearly doubled up my empire with (very far) overseas expansion...less fudging votes needed. You got there a lot faster due to marathon speed but you still need the pop :sad:.

At this point I think your best bet is to gift troops to Joao like crazy. The alternative is to get another AI that will vote for you to grow in similar fashion without taking the pop lead.
 
Tech biology, boost growth, expand overseas if possible to get your own count up.
 
Is it impossible for you to beeline the Infantry tech and attack Catherine? She's not in Buddhism, so you're religious friends might not get too angry.

Whatcha think 'bout giving Joao liberalism. Would he enter free religion and if so,
is it possible to make him like you without... ostracizing his [possibly former] worst enemies?
