I have created a mod where there are no unique units. Each UU now has a shield shaped resource that you'll need to collect, before you can create. 1-4 of these resources on average will appear per map. Thus any civ has the potential to build any UU. You can also have more than one UU. This mod adds a new twist to a great game. The focus is now on your attributes, so those of you who tend to rely on your UU will have to change your tactics.
You still need other strategic resources, such as Iron or saltpepper, to build those UU's.
Each new resource will only appear on what type of terrain so becareful when you set up the map. If the map is too warm than you may not have much tundra, and our northern UU may be scarse or not even there. The same goes for it being to cold for desert squares and the like.
