I'm playing PTW v1.27. I am at war with Persia (Main rival), Babylon and Germany (both only have 2-3 cities - got beaten in previous wars). I have signed a ROP with Egypt and a seperate MPP with Egypt which included me giving lux's and them 35 GPT (they were leading tech race and I wanted to stunt their growth) Greece was in the war on our side but got a bit of a whipping from Persia and pulled out. I am now leading the Tech race by 7/8 techs as I have managed to stay in Democracy and was only really fighting a defensive war.
I'm getting fed up (as are my citizens) with the war (its been going on for about 30 turns!), and although i'm winning I only started it to build up a tech lead ;) . How do I manage to sue for peace without annoying the Egyptians? Does the MPP ever run out? Will I be giving the Egyptians my furs and dyes for the rest of eternity?

check your active deals with Egyptians... if there is no number in ( ) next to the Military Alliance... then you can safely cancel the deal for no hit on your reputation....

if your war has lasted this long, then you should be alright...

good luck with your game..

A MPP is a very tricky thing. It forces you to declare war on the civ that attacks your MPP partner, but you are allowed to make peace as soon as you want (and while the MPP is still active). So you can make peace without staining your reputation. But... when one of the civs you made peace with attacks Egypt you are forced to declare war again. This WILL ruin your reputation, unless you made straight peace (nothing but peace is included in the deal, so no money, techs, etc...) and have no units in their territory. You broke the peace deal! MPP's are a wasp nest and I recommend using MA's instead. Problem of MA's however is that you have to stay at war until the MA ends or your MA-partner decides to break it and make peace. But at least this is a lot clrearer than a MPP.

On the plus side, a MPP ally is usually more dependable that a MA ally.

In either case don't count on a weak civ.
