I'm not sure when or where this became an issue, but I noticed that route selection is broken if you have a group of units that includes some (but not all) with the commando promotion.
The route selected will include enemy territory and take extra turns. If you manually move the units in the correct path they'll handle it correctly.
I observed it playing LoR but I don't expect the revolutions changes touched this behavior.
