I'm playing the Julii campaign again. Mostly it's a a breeze, winning most battles with a 9-1 kill/lost ratio. There have been a few unfortunate random events.

On the last one, I had a stack with two generals. There was one descent general with 4 stars and a good number of retainers. The other was a deranged fool that I mostly used for extra cavalry. The stack was marching through Gaul when there was a sudden flood took the life of the main general and left the deranged fool in charge. Would this make you reload or would you just laugh at the misfortune of it and continue on?

Can this include any TW game?

Depends on what time of game I'm playing. For AARs or for realism games, nothing except for bugs. When I'm trying to play a "perfect game," I'll reload for almost anything.

Whenever an earthquake kills half my army when it's out in the open, or a peasant instantly kills my general by walking into his horse's rear, I reload.

And, admittedly, I also do it whenever an agent of mine other than a diplomat/princess fails a mission. Please don't kill me, purists!

I play it historically. You can't reload history, so I "can't" reload the game.

Bugs are the only exception, and that's to try and avoid the crash.

Bugs or when something really stupid happens (though usually I accept the loss of a general). I don't reload very much at all in TW games.
What he said.

This. I once reloaded after some "stupid" thing, like general dying in a flood, but immediately realized that it ruined the whole game, and had to quit it altogether.

I don't think the fun in the game comes from being successful, but from being part of the history.

I do reload sometimes when I do some unfortunate mismove, like try to go little left and the unit decides to go on European tour instead.
