Ruff07 - Poor Marvin, but really ... who cares?

Hi there! This is Eddie your the Shipboard Computer coming to you from a small island somewhere off the coast of I have no clue-land. Tycoonist has missed his got-it window and is skipped. Quotey is up but wait 1 sec while I adjust Marvin's settings (babel fish translation: update the game with a city for us and post a new save). Edit: updated save attached.

Good work Eddie. We need to get some trade bait. Suggest swap to something highly tradable (ie paper) after we finish currency.

Will add pictures later today.

Turn 0 (180)

So depressed.

I hear things over the airwaves of Golgafrincham. How I would long to be anywhere but here.

Hum, that's strange. The Golgafrinchans were the first humans (or, the second, really) and came here (well, the dumb ones) from their home planet (well, a third of them) because of an impending disaster (lie).

Maybe another troupe of them?

I have to find them.

[golgafrincham]

Turn 1 (181)

I feel quite awake. Maybe some jet lag. Or maybe someone slipped me Prozac. Yes, that must be it.

Turn 2 (182)

I go and ask Augustus for death but he decides that I want to trade. He won't trade Mathematics for Currency. **********

And everyone else has currency. Decide to research Code of Laws as Washington doesn't have it.

Turn 3 (183)

[augustus caeser declares war]

You know, when I asked for death I did not mean the death of thousands of Carthagians. But I don't care.

I also convert to Hinduism at the request of Saladin. Maybe we shouldn't do this, but whatever.

[4 unit stack]

Turn 5 (185)

Hannibal beat off most of that stack and lost about one unit. It's hard to tell. I don't watch the battles as I don't care.

Turn 9 (189)

Peace is made with Augustus Caeser. How pointless.

Turn 13 (193)

Idiot priests finish Code of Laws, still behind everyone else. Call myself a Busshist as maybe I will get a better deal with Washington. He won't trade Maths for Code of Laws. What?

Stop here as I guess techs are greatly devalued in a PA. Ag! Suggest Aesthetics next.... or switch.

Hi there! This is Eddie your the Shipboard Computer coming to you from a small island somewhere off the coast of I have no clue-land. Quotey posted his report sans pictures and no one has looked at the save (yet) so everyone is as 'in the dark' as everyone else. There must be an electricity shortage somewhere. Lucky for me that my power comes from the improbability drive.

sorry i haven't been around lately, i have had tons of work. but half-term is coming up so i can hopefully get some playing done then.

want a hand ... how about starting with "the earth moved ... deal with it". Or "The planet Earth is a highly unstable geological body orbiting a small yellow star in the outer reaches of the galaxy. The local inhabitants are so mind bogglingly backwards that they still think that digital watches are neat".

oh - I'm up. got it.

Oh boy, am I weary. Is it pollen season - because I am either affected by pollen or I have a cold. Can a robot get a cold? Does anyone care? Hannibal is doing his stuff - moving his units around. Luckily for him, I am hear to organize some trades ...

Can someone please post a screen shot of something, tummy lint would be good enough.

Got it. I'll play tomorrow. Does anyone mind if I attempt some WB trickery?

As long as it is in context. Something like giving our city the only whale resource fits.

Another day, another wait for tomorrow. Tomorrow never comes :(
On the inherited turn, it appears someone has told our idiot nation that the unstoppably deadly but strangely unspecified impending doom that caused their flight from Golgafrincham was in fact a scam. They have gone into a 1500 year revolt, until they hear that the remaining 2/3 of the population died from an infection spread on unsanitized 'phones. At that point they will celebrate for the rest of the game and still do nothing.
I didn't tell them; it must have been the player before me :mischief:

I played until Paper came in. It doesn't seem to be worth very much however. These are the only trades available (we can do them with other trading partners, however)

Ok Got it.
