Bah. It's TEST cricket. Remember that? Not only are we hopeless at it, but we haven't played it for a year. That we got thrashed in the first test is the least surprising sporting result of the year.

Considering England and Australias best footballers all play Rugby League I commend both sides.........maybe the winners of the Super League and NRL should get a start in the rugby union world cup ,now THAT I would watch

Rugby League is a completely different sport so no point harping on about comparisons like that. Different skillset, different play style, and to a large extent, different audiences.
At least the Rugby Union World Cup has more than 1 team in it, unlike the Rugby League World Cup, which has one good team and a bunch of others that just make up the numbers (or in the case of teams like Lebanon, are made up of Australians anyway).
