Wilkinson could win the game for England off his boot. With this in mind, I am fervently hoping that one of those kind New Zealand gentlemen will snap his spine about 2 minutes in. :D

i honestly can't see England getting within 2 tries of them.
Famous last words, my friend. We will destroy the Kiwis and dance on their graves whilst singing "Swing low sweet chariot", and possibly even some show tunes if we have time.

Yay MrPresident!

I'm somewhat less willing to hedge my bets, but I'm supporting England and my fingers are crossed... :)

Cricket's played by pansies
And football's played by queers
Tennis is for poofters, they're up each other's rears
Golfers bite their pillows
And swimmers do the same
But we are proper men because
Rugby is our game.

IMHO...
The only thing more pointless than rugby is the American version.

But don't take that the wrong way.

Super 12 Rugby is club rugby, and no club League in the world comes close to it.

Agreed, the standard is VERY high, but I think most of the teams in the Super 12 are amalgamations or regional teams.

League seems to be played in Northern England and Union in the South; not too sure on when or why the schism was.

League started out as a professional game because mill workers in the industrial north couldn't get paid time off work to play. The Rugby Union took exception to these payments, so the RFL was founded.

Of course, before Union became openly professional, some of the top players were receiving more in 'boot' money than their 'professional' counterparts in League!

Nice to see the Australian sense of fair play is still alive and well :crazyeye:

Either BBC or Sky Sports will show it.
Pfpfpfpf!

I couldn't watch England's victory! It sounded really good with 6-6 at half time and close finish, although not very high scoring so maybe it was pathetic.

I have Sky Sport! I checked their website, but they strangely don't include this channel in their listings. It was on Sky Sport 1!

football (soccer) is best, it involves talent rather than size and brute strength.

They must have missed him...

:D :king:

Quite. It was a terrible state of affairs. Don't know what the world's coming too when rugby players are afraid of getting dirty. Winning the game off the boot, not the done thing.

ARGH!

I much prefer Rugby Union, but i'm starting to seriously get pissed off with the All Blacks. Not that great a game except for Englands exceptional defence (or maybe our pathetic attacking). Goddammit, i think i'll be secretly cheering (for the first time) for Australia next weekend.

Famous indeed! I'll have to take everything coming my way after Saturday, but bring it on cause there's plenty more Lion bashing left in me yet (strictly talking rugby though)!!!

Your boys couldn't score a try if you played the Deniliquin Drovers 2nd grade!

Pumas 10 - France 6

Better luck next time frogs :p

THAT'S why I prefer League - people know how to run with the ball.

Anybody who beats the French gets my vote... :goodjob:

I think it's in Wilkinsons contract. No one else to score any points.

I see that after the weekend, the press (here at least) has England installed as firm favourites for the WC. It seems being the Six Nations winner (ie, able to beat 5 of the six second string rugby nations) makes you the favourite now.

Anyone keen to have a little guess as to the outcome on Saturday? I'll go with Aus 35 England 16. First try to the Wallabies at the 8 minute mark.
