running Conquests

I recently installed WinXP, now, when i run Conquests my screen changes to a smaller size, then back to my desktop.
What is the problem?
I had no problems when i was using Win98.

Hello there!

When you try to load Conquests does the screen go black as if its loading then "flashes" back to the desktop with no error message?

Could you please tell me the the CPU speed of your PC and what graphics it has... CIV needs to re-size your screen to 1024x768 60hz, and if your graphics or even screen can't do it, it would just give up. And Xp is more quick to close programs that have problems, unlike 98 that tried to keep them going to the bitter end

Yes exactly!

I had no problems playing III and Conquests.
One day the computer crashed, i installed XP,by advice from my neighbor.
