I think we should postpone the attack on Russia (if we do attack Russia) until we have Military Tradition. Then we can pummel them with Cavalry. Cavalry Rock!

Nice thought, but Russia will almost certainly have Cossacks by the time we get Cavalry. I don't think I'm alone when I say that the thought of taking on those Cossacks and possibly initiating the Russian Golden Age is considerably less desirable than the other options available to us.

Plus, if we attack Russia now, we're unleashing a wound coil. They have MOUNDS of production in "them thar hills". Sure, they'll probably be able to push through Babylon, but that would only make them bigger, if say, we asked Babylon to join. Babylon is one of the civs with Riflemen, but cossacks can tear through riflemen any old day.

unless... we want to do a Sirian SG-style rifle/artillery challenge.

As stated in another thread, we could give all the other nations Military Tradition or Education to join an alliance against Russia. Soon the entire world will be against Russia!
