Lockdown at San Quentin After Melee

As many as 80 inmates were involved in a 11/2-hour melee at San Quentin Prison that injured five guards, officials said.

SAN QUENTIN, Calif. (AP) -As many as 80 inmates were involved in a 11/2-hour melee at San Quentin Prison that injured five guards, officials said. More than 460 prisoners remained under lockdown following the brawl Friday night in a cell block that houses some of San Quentin's most dangerous inmates. One guard was treated at Marin General Hospital for minor injuries. Four others who were punched did not require hospital treatment, officials said. Prison spokesman Vernell Crittendon said he didn't know how many inmates were injured, but none required medical attention. The melee broke out as a number of inmates were returning from the dining hall about 7:25 p.m. Friday. An inmate apparently tried to block the door to the cell block, and a sergeant who tried to open it was attacked. When 21 guards could not quell the melee, a rare second alert was called for extra personnel to subdue the inmates. Crittendon said that in his 22 years at the prison, a secondary response has been used only about a half-dozen times.

The End of the World ? Not today:p

Which is why I thought it'd make a nice feature for XIII's conspiracy theory forum. ;)

You DO know this is his conspiracy forum, don't you? :mischief:

Why set any trust in the words of a man who lived centuries ago?

It is folly to believe any of his ramblings are relevant to our modern age.

WHAT !

You mean that this Forum is Actually Organized .

Amazing , I thought all you CIVS and Especially

CurtSibling a.k.a. Ciaran were just GAME Junkies .:crazyeye:

good one Sean ;)

PENIEL, after a while on this forum you will learn to distinguish those of us who are Brain Dead Junkies from those of us who only pretend to be, but at the beginning, I agree, it's quite tough :p

Nostradamus' predictions are notoriously twistable because he uses French, the vaguest of languages. Even with my cursory knowledge of French, the "prophecy" you posted does not necessarily lead to the direct translation you followed it with. That's all long talk for saying that it's easy to translate his words any way you want, and even easier to eventually, in a thousand years of history, fit them to any event you want :p

Nostradamus HAD to be vague and poetic or he would have been met with grisly fate. Too bad it means its hard to make any specific sense of it.

Actually, the translation is pretty accurate (my knowledge of French is not as cursory ;) ). The problem is not with French - almost any language can be used to make a vague prediction of what is going to happen at some point in the future. And as you say, the law of large numbers will ensure that any vague enough prediction will eventually come true in some fashion.

Penniel, either youre nuttier than a fruitcake, or you found that sheet of acid I lost in 1983:hmm:

Phew...

I thought this thread was going to be about Metallica recording that 'St. Anger' junk in San Quentin jail...
