I think I have played it in BtS, but I would not swear to it as it does not look like it from the OP.

It's only for the last patch of Civ IV base game. Read the readme, I tried loading it a few times at it just brought me back to my desktop

Yup as Zygmunt says, to play this scenario you'll need to run the original vanilla Civ4. Instead of pestering Dale to add a note to a 20yr old post I've added a quick little red one into his install instructions in the OP to avoid future confusion.

The disc version exe of vanilla Civ4 doesn't run anymore but if you have the Steam or GoG complete edition of Civ4 you should have the option to install a vanilla Civ4 copy (which already has the last patch applied) separate to your usual existing Civ4 BTS install. I just did it with my Steam copy and sure enough the scenario worked just fine with it! Looks cool, and I like how Dale used the excellent Age of Empires 3 colonial intro as the intro for the scenario too heh.
