Scenario making for beginners.

I've seen no evidence to indicate that this figure is editable in the game's auxiliary files. The language of magic in this case would be assembly. ;) Why lookup tables when you can use an equation like this: Population = 5000s(s+1), where s = city size?
 
Unzip the folder under "Civilization" and then start a scenario by clicking on awordatwar.scen?
 
I dont think it matters. You can unzip it even on your desktop, provided that you can find the scenario file from under "begin scenarios" in the main menu.

I am new to civfanatics, and came here while I was trying to edit my own civ2. I downloaded the MGE patch, and then a few maps, units and utilities. Then came a few problems, that I thought you guys could help me with, so I signed up. I am the type of guy that believes that the best way to learn fishing is to catch the big fish. To edit units and even nations is easy, as you know. But is it possible to edit and add wonders, or making it possible that you can have more nations with you (like in civ3). Hope I don't sound to stupid, cause I just started getting into this editing thing
 
I'm afraid both editing wonders attributes and changing the number of civs is hardcored into the game. It will be possible to change these things only when the code will be made avaliable to the public. I'd recommend that you read the many guides on the mod design avaliable here on CFC. You will then have a full overview of the tools avaliable to you.

Just kidding. But how do one make modpacks? But what CAN we get without going illegal?

PS Hopefully in not too long you will see my first scenarios coming. And ofcourse a few (hopefully good) maps will go with them
 
Hey all. I'm having a problem with a sound file not playing in battle. Everything seems to add up, the file is in the right location, meets all the needed specs, and works when I test it in the Unit Editor, but when I have the unit attack, no sound. What could be doing this?

Did you fix your problem yet? If not can you describe the situation in greater detail.
 
Thanks for the reply Kobayashi. No, I haven't got the problem licked yet, I've been concentrating more on making the other units then solving this problem.

The audio file itself is in the proper place, in the sound folder for my scenario-to-be. It's bit rate is 176 kbps, Adio sample size is 8 bit, it's mono, sample rate is 22 kHz and the format is PCM.

The unit itself occupies the extra unit #8's slot, and the file is in the "battle" slot for sounds associated with the unit. I's been given a building cost, attack, defense, hp and firepower ratings, but they're just test numbers to make sure the unit can attack. it's domain is ground, and it's set as an attack unit.

Any ideas?
 
Got a question:
I've given all technologies to my civilization and build Apollo Wonder in one of the cities. Why am I not able to build ship improvements?
 
Have you tried saving as a scenario then restarting it? I suppose you would have by now. Also, have you tried advancing to the next turn? I'm pretty sure Apollo program allows ALL civs to produce space ships, so it should be working. Why don't you post the scenario here for us to look at? :goodjob:

Ok, here's the full story :)

I want to have a bunch of buildings acting as "cash reserves" for a few factions. They would cost 0 to maintain and once the player needs cash or is out of money these buildings would get sold. I was planning to use spaceship elements for that task. Obviously Apollo Progam would be destroyed after everything is placed on the map and all 3 components would be made obsolete by techs.
However I cant seem to be able to build them at all.

Also I had this question: Would the spaceship show up on the menu if its parts were built? Is there a way to get rid of that?
