Schnappi das Kleine Krokodil

I am currently downloading and installing Windows Media Player for the sole purpose of viewing this German little crocodile. It better be as good as the kid on the subway says.

I must say I think the song itself is a bit too subdued to be successful in the United States. But I could see myself watching the cartoon itself.

As far as I know there is no cartoon other than the video. It was made to promote the song. The song was actually #1 in Germany the whole winter or so. And you could hardly escape the annoying little girl that sings it when you turned on TV. She has to be the most annoying and least sympathetic child of her age I've ever seen...

Sorry it's my mistake Hitro. I've told in the first page it came out from a German cartoon as I believed it was. That's what I understood from the comment made on TV but I guess the cartoon they were talking about was simply the video in itself.

Well, I'm not entirely sure that there isn't a cartoon now. Wouldn't be exactly surprising... ;)

(it'd be nice to see it get translated, and pop over in teh US; its alot better the most of the garbage shown nowadays. it might even make up for when europe (well, britian) sent us the telly-tubbies :ack: )

I wouldn't go that far. Nothing short of handing over all their money and pledging to be our servents until the end of time would even begin to pay us back for visiting that travesty upon us.

the alarm-clock goes off : schni,schna,schnappi
you drive to work: schni,schna,schnappi
at work: schni,schna,schnappi
you come home, turn on the tv: schni, schna, schnappi
you decide to leave tv and go to the pub. guess what? schni, schna, schnappi

Yeah, that's called a mass hysteria ;)

And be glad you haven't heard the Kubík song from one of our commercials. I thought I'll get a gun and shoot anyone, who sings that :)

Today, Schnappi's song, exclusively in German version, is n°10 of the French charts ! Obviously, French kids love him ! :crazyeye:

It was a hit in NL last february, I think. The French are behind ;) !

I've surprised many Germans by the Dutch common knowledge of several German songs:

-Matthias Reim's "Verdammt ich lieb dich"
-Spider Murphy Gang's "Skandall im Sperrberzirk"
-Peter Schilling's "Major Tom"
-Nena's "99 Luftballons" (not that crappy English red ballon version)
-Falco's "Jeanny"
-Marianne Rosenberg's "Ich bin wie du"
-Reinhard Mey's "Gute Nacht, Freunde"

Gute Nacht, Freunde
Es wird Zeit für mich zu geh’n
Was ich noch zu sagen hätte
Dauert eine Zigarette
Und ein letztes Glas im Steh’n

Anyway Marla,

Thanks to you I got this stupid song in myhead again  !

And I'm sure I wasn't the only one who told you that you're indescribably evil.

Indeed. Only the Hitler version, but still.

In NL you can get away listening to those songs, for it is 'cult'.

However, some Dutch listen to German Schlagers..... So blau blau blau blüht der Enzian.... :vomit: .

In return, we managed to give you Rudi Carell. Now, exporting your biggest bag of crap to Germany..... Quite an acheivement  !

According to Wikipedia, Schnappi was part of the "Sendung mit der Maus" (show with the mouse). When I was young I loved this show.
I can't imagine how Schnappi fits in this show though.

There's actually a new Schnappi song: Ein "Lama in Yokohama" (a llama in Yokohoma). Less succesful than the first song (only #6 in Germany).
