An abandoned project. Long ago I began developing a fantasy scenario. Most of the unit art was taken from another game, but I modified it. I haven't worked on the scenario for more than two years and it will probably never be finished, but I decided to share the unit graphics.

I hope some of it may be of some use.

The first line was to be the available units for the only civilization meant to be playable. The second line units that could be researched, mostly fantasy allies for a struggling human kingdom. The rest of the lines various foes and non-playable factions.

And all the units at the bottom were to be barbarian units coming from "lairs", basically barbarian cities.

    Well.. Here's the file.

Indeed! Or more correctly; Star Fleet Battles, a tabletop game from 1979, made as a tactical combat game to correspond to the Original Series. Kirk era! The Starfleet Command 1 & 2 were loosely based on that tabletop game. Because Star Trek were in its infancy and not many races existed they invented a whole bunch which never returned. The Hydrans, the Lyrans (probably became Caitians), the Miran (Kzinti in Star Fleet Battles, were renamed in Starfleet Command 2 due to copyright, but basically the same race). They were also the source of the first fleets of Orion and Gorn fleet lists.

I believe the Hydrans only exist in the Starfleet Battles/Command game universes, during the TOS and Kirk movie era. They were never mentioned in any of the TV-shows or movies. A wasted opportunity; I feel the Hydrans are among the most interesting Star Trek races ever made. They are one of the few races to purely exist in the expanded universe lore.

    That was an awesome game.
I remember taking on 3 klingon dreadnoughts with a tiny federation corvette just to see how long i'd last.

Yes, it was rather glorious! I still got Starfleet Command installed, and I get it to run on Win10!

From the German manual of Starfleet Command, ship no. 2 could be a frigate of the Hunter Class, ship no. 4 a destroyer of the Lancer Class, ship no. 6 a battlecruiser of the Overlord Class and ship no. 9 a Cruiser of the Ranger Class.
