Finally did China. The trick is not to build warriors or workers but settlers (which are much cheaper than RFC) to start, and build Moai Statues on the coast. I was so lucky that I had both stone and marble within reach of my capital and Hangzhou (which become the most cultured city in the world with nearly all the wonders and 2 shrines). Built all wonders except for Oracle (didn't need it for Calendar). Japan vassalized early, Khmer after I converted them to Confucianism (which had the power of the Apostolic Palace behind it), then Russia when the Turks nearly beat them to death. The Mongols were baited to leave their capital undefended, then razed. Unfortunately they flipped almost 15 units of mine, but they were eventually capitulated and granted Izmir as a small fiefdom.
Had no plague which was strange.
Another funny thing, almost all the cities are correct in their relative placement with respect to Beijing, and even the Great Wall enclosed only traditionally "Chinese" cities (Yangzhou and Suzhou wanted to flip to the Mongols).

That's another thing to fix, Greece (if they survive the barbs) cannot be caught techwise, making England, France and Germany's goals much harder (if not impossible for England).

This has got to be my luckiest game so far with India. The Indian subcontinent hasn't fully integrated into Asia, and 2 strategic bridges to the main land blocked off by a mountain and a jungle, and only Maya with her puny warriors spawned near me. I was able to build in peace and trade with envious neighbors. Built 4 out of 5 shrines. The only other wonder contender was Carthage. I found out in retrospect that China was similarly isolated with great land, but got erased by the barbs fairly early on after they built the Hanging Gardens.

Something seriously seriously needs to be done with Greece. In my last game on very high likeliness, I spawned as Mongolia and ran into Greek riflemen and cavalry in the 1200s. Absurd. In the end they collapsed though and when I ran in to grab a city or two, I found Corinthos had around it iron, copper, stone, marble, cows, crabs, spices and wheat. Just absurd. That predictably allowed it to build the Great Wall, Oracle, Wat Preah Pisnoluk, Colossus, Great Lighthouse, Shwegadon Paya, Temple of Artemis, Great Library, Sistine Chapel, Notre Dame, etc etc....

IMO that is mostly due to their UP, it needs to be somehow nerfed (until 0 AD?)

With low likeness Earth type.

Japan was one of the first Civ (left on IMG). They founded Judaism, and later Christianity. Japan was North of me (Babylon), but I couldn't located their capital until I send out trimeres.
It's weird how their second city was founded so far away (or maybe it was conquered).
