umm.... dammit I know this one.....

you need Moscow, Leningrad, Stalingrad and one other, pretty deep in Russia though, starts with an S, like waaaaay past Stalingrad, although by the time you pass the Volga the Soviets arent much of a threat, they panic and build easy to destroy militia

Moscow, Leningrad, Stalingrad, Baku (deep in the Caucasus) and Sverdlovsk (on the Urals), but only if Japan isn't allied with Germany. If Japan is, then you don't need Sverdlovsk, but will need Vladivostok on the Pacific coast.

:)

holy crap that far in!

also the caucasus is that the part that borders with perisa? i thought i saw baku somwhere around there b4...

Correct, Baku borders Persia on the very south-eastern tip.

Usually my invasion of Russia begins with pushing towards Moscow and Leningrad. After winter I move in the south, which means the bulk of my armies take Stalingrad, Baku and can push as far towards the Urals as they like. As Captain2 said, by this time the Soviets are in too desperate a position to launch a major counter-attack. I quite like taking my time

Well, I haven't played HoI II, but from my historical knowledge, it would probably be because that is where the Soviets relocated their industry before the war. Thus, capturing Sverdlovsk would symbolize taking the last of the Russian industrial capacity, leaving them with only Siberia.

Pwnage.

That's me ontop a PAC gunship.

Heh... It's easier with the PAC gunship. Get a guy in it, and make him dip the tail, which you can now jump up onto. Stay on the tail until the gunship go back up, then CAREFULLY walk across the tail. enjoy.

And then grimace in annoyence as someone nails you just as you get airborne.

Or at least that's what would probably happen to me.

EDIT:

I played for 4 rounds on this map just a short while ago;

Recently bought Lord of the Rings Online, as I had so much fun with the Beta. Decided that, rather that my rather groovy Dwarven guardian, I will have to play a damn poncy Elf!

Greetings i am Legolas of the Woodland Realm, now wheres my money hoe!? *slap*

Yes in every screenshot I've seen, the hats really look pimp-like.

That's one of the best webcomic around. :)

This is IMHO the best episode from it. :D

Kan, how many charactors are there in the game running aronud with various versions of then ames of charactors from the movie and books?

Remarkably few, so far. I saw a "Leetgolas" though, which amused the hell out of me.

Cute comic links - this one is probably more relevant to me though ;):

Indeed - definitely a game they've marketted towards, well, me. Considered getting a pointy wizard hat for this guy, but the feather really bought this one over, despite the fact there are "stronger" cloth hats.

I just finished KoTOR. :D

I had to take a picture to comemorate:
