This game crosses to the wrong side of the uncanny valley. Nothing really quite looks like it belongs where it is. Those gas stations don't even connect to the road!

It looks like it's wall-to-wall skyscrapers.

I'm surprised you can get up to a third-million people in new game though. What kind of specialization did you use--is the city a bedroom/commercial office-type capital?

What the hell? Aren't you supposed to kill them, not trap them under staircases?

It isn't actually ~300,000 or however many people, only a relatively few thousand of them actually work jobs, the rest is just a ghost population.

You mean that each building only has "one" occupant that works in the Glassbox engine, but the interface multiplies them so that it looks like there are hundreds or thousands living in the apartment building?

Something like that yeah. The ghost population just leaches off your city and doesn't contribute anything.

The current gay Irish dwarf is only about 50 and has been on the throne since he was about 4, so yes.

I found a very simple solution to the whole thing. I was only interested in invading the HRE after I for some reason became liege to the Most Serene Republic of The Hansa when it formed. I only actually wanted the land along the northern coast. As a result:

Independence for everyone!

The Hansa hasn't formed in my Hispania game, I think it might be because Gotland is freakin' massive and super-powerful. They control most of Sweden and trading ports reaching all the way down to Spain.

Harm is my companion, having converted to my congregation early in this game of DCSS. At one point he fell through a hole trap in the floor and ended up two dungeon floors below me. He then singlehandedly killed everything on that floor and waited patiently for me to come down. I've never witnessed that before, but by the gods he's earned his keep.

Guns of Icarus with Kan and Shauna:

With a hearty "YAAAR" Pilot Kan sets out for battle and glory

The lovely Shauna keeps the enemy at bay with our flamethrowers (Yes Kan, flamethrowers)

With Kan piloting I keep lookout for the enemy, I finally see them teaming up on our allied ship. I report this to him and we rush to intercept.

We shoo the wolfpack off with superior firepower as I wave goodbye to our useless balloon friend.

Sadly Kan turns traitor and leaves the crew of "The Red Legend" to start his own ship, we show him what we think of traitors and promptly shoot him down.

That is how most of my games of this ended It will be really nice to have people to play this with.

According to the reviews, this game sucks. Is it underrated?

I never read the reviews, but the game certainly does not suck. Its not the best thing ever, but it is fun and the team behind aren't bad. Its also had quite a bit of patching and tweaking since release so it runs smoother too and they are continually working on new content, although i think any major content is a ways off still.
