Anyone ever play
Sid Meier's Gettysburg!/Antietam!/South Mountain Campaigns? I used to play aaalllll the time back in 2003-2004, but tried a random scenario tonight to see if I remembered anything.
My first thoughts are to detach a single regiment and have it occupy that southern objective, while the rest of the brigades head for the trees south of Morrison Farm. It's a good, defensive position. This attempt ends in failure, however, because this scenario presents the player with only 40 minutes to take the position. Though this sounds like a long while, in-game it's very brief. Certainly not long enough for a woodland battle. What I need is a quick thrust..
...so I send the boys off on a little nature walk.

I'm going to come from behind and grab the objective before the rebels have time to respond.
(Replay) The rebels are completely oblivious.
Two brigades of troops take on two regiments.
While the majority of my forces hammer the lone defenders, another of my regiments sneaks by and takes the field.
The rebels try to react....
...but they're too late. I take the ground and am forming my lines for a proper defense when the scenario ends, time having run out.
The Union forever, hurrah boys hurrah.
Closing lines...
