What's the difference between Air Strikes and Air Bombs? Air Strikes only attack units, right? Air bombs attack cities? I rarely play modern games, so someone will need to refresh my memory.
 
Yes I think that was the difference, but I'm not playing that often nowadays at all, let alone modern games, so I don't know for sure either. I was was hoping you did ;)

Both of you are right.;)
 
Since Bombers can air strike and air bomb, as well as fighters, I guess I don't see the need for different buttons. If they were different, then yes, but as it stands now, fighters are weak at bombing with a high combat, and bombers are strong at bombing, but with a low combat; which blurs the line between the two.
 
Can you add the auto airstrike ability to air units without collateral dmg as well? (airships cannot do any AUA atm, dunny why since fighters do not do any collateral damage either - but they can be automated.)

air bomb reduces city defense, but does no dmg to units

air strike does dmg to units, but won't reduce city defense.



air strike can attack units within cities as well. :P


also, fighters are better vs single units than bombers. bombers are better vs stacks (cause of collateral damage).
 
The units might be able to do both, but you could make the automations different still:
Auto Air Bomb would consider bombing missions (at least the city defense reduction one, the bombardment of tiles can stay at the end) first, Auto Air Strike would try to target units first.
 
Link Fixed and New Version Posted. Only CvUnitAI has been changed. Save-Compatible.

Version 1.35 Changes:
  • Border Patrolling Units will not attempt to load onto nearby cargo ships
  • Patrolling Units will not attempt to move farther than they have move points (Thanks Thomas SG!)
  • Automated City Defenders will never leave the city with no defenders
 
Automate Recon. Interesting Idea. I'm AFK for the next week, but when I get back, we'll see.
 
smeagolheart, I'm looking at updating AUA with Automate Air Recon, Automate Upgrade Unit, and Automate Promote Unit. The last one, I know can be done with a player option already, but this would be for the single unit, not all units. Could you make artwork for all three, as well as 2 additional buttons for canceling the Automate Upgrade Unit and Automate Promote Unit?

Yes I can do it. It may take me a bit to get them just right where they seem reasonably similar to the ones already in BTS, should be done by Saturday I would say.
 
How will Automate Upgrade Unit work with 2 (or more) Upgrade Classes? Random?

Awesome, they are perfect. I've got the Auto Air Recon in testing, I'll get started on the other two and post my results here later.
