SDK Component Requests:

I would like a tag in BuildingInfo that gives productions bonus toward specific unit types.

That way Armourer can give production bonus to melee units, clone factory can give bonus to clone units, nano factory gives bonus to high tech units and so on.

It's already in AND 1.55, it's called the UnitClassProductionModifier. See the modders guide for documentation. An example of a building that uses it would be the Missile Lab.

It just doesn't appear on the list in the beginning of this thread - that's why I asked. ;)

The Lists in the OP are new to AND 1.60, Everything in the Modders Guide are already included in AND 1.55.
 
Someone mentioned that Ancient Mediterranean Mod has this modcomp that grant promotion according to what resource you have. For example, if you have copper, you get promotion that make unit stronger because of that. Then with Iron, the unit is even stronger. What do you think of this modcomp for future (1.70 version)?

I tried doing this exact thing, it didn't quite work for me. Ultimately I wanted to have to pay an upgrade cost for existing units to get the bonus, but I don't think that is very easy to do either.

I was trying to have the promotions colored differently depending on how you got them. Like green for resource based, red for those from a warlord, things like that. Of course, I don't have the time to work on that, so I am just throwing that out there.
 
Since Defense modifiers are used A LOT compared to vanilla BtS, I am requesting that you add in "BUG-like" feature for Defense. Just put that with that defense number on the top right of the city right, above Health/Unhealth infobar. Or just make a new place for it somewhere. Because there are way too many defense buildings and I did not notice them til somewhat too late. I luck out so far but...

Hopefully this pleases you. It also shows how damaged your defense are, if they are damaged, amongst a whole host of features. :p

NBAfan, actually, I don't think BUG team may be too keen on it because in vanilla BtS Defense modifier changing buildings can be counted in two hands, maybe less. As opposed to RoM, and AND to boot, the buildings run into twenties or so :p :D.

It's not important to BUG, because only buildings, terrain and culture affect defense in BTS. But I added modifiers for civics, resources and there are tons more buildings, so it is more important. :p

Plus, I never understood why we couldn't see our cities Bombard Resistance.

I'd like a tag in.. I would think it'd apply in BuildingInfo, for revolution index, for your idea of competing news corporations. Hopefully I'll make use of it before the end of this month, or whenever 1.60 or 1.7 comes out.

Would it be possible to code in a revolution tag for events?

There already is a iRevolutionIndexModifier for buildings in AND 1.55. Look at some of the Early Buildings made by GeneralStaff, or the Modular Wonder, the Porcelain Tower to use it. Make sure you use a schema file from a building pack that includes it.

I was thinking general news events, such as, small child saved from falling in well, +1 one time bonus to good morale(improving your revolutions), or like Our diplomat was assassinated, -5 one time penalty.. that sort of thing. But, hold off on implementing this particular events tag until I can figure out if I can do it or not, unless someone else thinks it's good, heh.

So a one time boost? I can add that too. Keep in mind though, that the Revolution Meter (Or Index, or Whatever,) can go up to 4000, it's a bit arbitrary, so a boost of 1 would be meaningless. 100 or 200 though, that's pretty significant. 500 would be a massive penalty. :mischief:

Also, I'll add a Prereq Game Option tag, so the events don't go off for games without the game option. (For Revolutions).
