Search Option?

I'm new to this site, and I wanted to search through the forums but I get a message that the admin has disabled that feature. I read a post from 7 days ago and other people seem to be able to search. Is anyone else having problems searching? -Thanks.

I disabled search a few days ago because the server had lots of problems (one day the server crashed twice).

Thanks... This site is extremely well put together and very helpful, especially the forums. It's really renewed my interest in the game. I'm glad so many people are willing to take the time to make this site so great. I'll be on the lookout for the search option to return...

I think they're going to do maintenance on the server this Saturday. Telefragged, that is. So after the RAM (Which I think is the issue with no search here right now) is upgraded, we should see the search function return by this weekend.

One hopes, at least. I surely do miss the search function. But better to have it off and access to the forum than not off and getting booted out all the time.

On the Internet, when using caps, it's considered to be shouting. You normally don't shout, if you are not angry.

On the calender, I think TF mentioned disabling it awhile ago, since no one's really using its features... Something about conserving server resources...

You can't post public events on the calender so it wasn't really that useful...

Would the search option not be more stable if it was only used for the C+C forum? Can you even do that?

The C+C forum is really the only place that its needed, for digging up units etc.

For what it's worth, I agree w/ Gael -- activating it in the C&C forum would be very helpful, if it could be done w/out crashing the page...

I third gael's suggestion. Whoever needs to search for what someone said about Bush a year ago?
Or look at an old thread about what is the best, horsemen or swordsmen, when you can post a new one?

Actually, we mods would like the search function returned for other reasons.

Unfortunately, after some quick experiments, it looks like it is all forums, or nothing.

(At least until the server is demonstrably stable, and TF has time to play with it.)

If the forum remains stable for a few more days, then I will consider turning search back on.

The server does appear to be alot more stable after the weekend maintenance.

ive only used to the search function one or two times (to see what it is and how it works) but i dont get why people want it so bad, i see the server is great now w/out it, so i dont mind.
