Searching is messed up

I got an error too:

Database error in vBulletin 2.2.6:

Invalid SQL: SELECT searchid, dateline FROM search WHERE userid=1 ORDER BY dateline DESC LIMIT 1

mysql error: Can't open file: 'search.MYI'. (errno: 145)
mysql error number: 1016
Date: Saturday 11th of October 2003 09:14:01 PM

Looks like the search table is corrupted... I have emailed Teleragged about that.

Edit: I will disable search for now.

Set your timers folks ;). Who knows how long Telefrag will get this quared away ;).

The server was very slow yesterday so I turned it off.

I will turn it back on in a day or two.

Well, uh, TF, if everyone has searching off, how do you explain THIS:

Weird thing is that I think you have to be logged on to search.

Edit: IIRC, if someone is "hidden" they show up as a guest. I suppose this means a mod with search powers was "hiding" and searching.

Then how do you explain THIS:

Dang! I wish the firewall here at work would let me see these pics. I'm guessing that they show the "Who's Online" screen, with somebody "searching forums". I would venture to guess, at that point, that if you click the search button, and are directed to the page that tells you that search is disabled, you would be shown as "searching", even though you are not actually accomplishing that task.

What Padma said. You don't have to be actually searching the forum for who's online to say you are searching. You just need to be at the search page. :)

Anyway, search is re-enabled for normal members now.

I've got another question about the Who's Online pic shown there...how would an ordinary user be listed as "registering?" I've seen guests registering before, but I think I've only seen users doing it once or twice...was that user viewing the registering page or is there a point where an account is created but the user is still officially registering?

EDIT: Just a note, I was looking through the memberlist and found a user called Administrator. Is that a TF DL?

This reminds me of a Home Improvement scene:

Tim: Al, will you time me on how fast I can change the tires on the racecar?
Al: Should I use a stopwatch or a calender?
