Played 12 turns and the situation looks grim, though the state radio heralds the imminent victory on the treacherous freemasons of Persia and Ethiopia (though we're technically not at war with Ethiopia, but that hardly matters).
On the interturn we lose Ergili and Persepolis back to the Persians. What little is left of our navy is shattered and bombed and finds a heroic last resting spot on the bottom of the ocean. Hmm, not looking good.
The only thing to do is replenish our forces and that's slowly but certainly done. Accumulated our forces in Drafter's City. With no navy to speak of, any offensive measures were out of the question. By now we have something of a task-force ready for action, wouldn't want to call it an army.
In the meantime Darius went on counter-attack. Rather sillily bombarding northern cities with destroyers without follow up. More annoying were the guided missiles that destroyed good part of the improvements in the eastern peninsula. And he even captured Heroic Epic with tanks and parked a bunch of airplanes in them. However, it was recaptured immediately after with a little stack of infantry we had parked close-by. I actually built Heroic Epic, the building, in Akkad. Can't believe we never built it before (or did we and can you rebuild it when you lose it??).
Stopped when laser came in, chose advanced flight as placeholder.
On the last turn defied a UN resolution against the proliferation of nuclear arms... Without nukes our loss is certain, with them only highly likely.
Darius is very busy rebuilding his spaceship, he actually surpassed Zara already in progress. Unfortunately his new capital will be a lot harder to nuke away than his former was.
