Serpent in the ark?

The fact that there are serpents today means (according to the bible) they must have been in the ark, or they evolve from fish (which the bible does not teach). But serpents were evil, so why were they allowed on the ark?

no ark, no biblical flood. period

answer enough?

I concur!:) With a little help from alien technology, anything is possible!;) StarTrek anyone? I'm sure God would have much better technology than what we can possibly dream of in StarTrek. Since God was the designer of the Ark, anything was possible.;)

If you read the article I posted earlier in the thread, its not that unlikely.

What about the Black Sea flood seven thousand years ago? That might be the inspiration behind all this.

I think Ntnl Geographic sent off an expedition there a few years ago. They may have a website.

EDIT: Bingo! :D www.nationalgeographic.com/blacksea/

I beleive there was actually a catastrophic flood somewhere near Turkey I think that wiped out most human settlments there. I'm not sure about it; it was in a National Geographic article some time ago.

Most Bible stories are probably based in truth...

Indeed! There probably has been a nasty big flood in, say, 3000 BC, wiping out several settlements. There might have been a guy saving his own arse and some lifestock on a ship. Not too unlikely I think.

When we try to look at bibical stories, and keep in my mind that there might not have been any divine influence, and when we keep in mind that the few historical sources are from a survivors perspective and far far from neutral, stories like the ark story become perectly plausible. One dude survived and made himself a hero. This has been done a million times in history!

A great flood wiping out all humans and land animals, except those on one ship, in 3000, 4000 or 5000 BC is utter nonsense. People have a right to believe this happened, just as people have a right to believe 1+1=3.

In fact, Moonsinger's theory is the only one that could hold some truth.

Actually, the article that you posted earlier in this thread does support my theory 100%. Thanks for pointing that out.:) Here is a little snapshot of what that article said:

Was the ark large enough to hold all the required animals?
The Ark measured 300x50x30 cubits (Genesis 6:15) which is about 140x23x13.5 metres or 459x75x44 feet, so its volume was 43,500 m3 (cubic metres) or 1.54 million cubic feet. To put this in perspective, this is the equivalent volume of 522 standard American railroad stock cars, each of which can hold 240 sheep.

Obviously, it's virtually impossible for Noah and his sons to build contruct such a ship from scratch without any help from God (or may I say "an alien from an advance civilization"). According to the Bible, God told Noah exactly what to do. And if you have watched the movie version of that story, God even built part of the ship for Noah too. Of course, God himself picked/summoned all those animals to the ship too - Noah didn't even bother to round them up!
