Server busy

Yeah, that's the point. If it's not enable, the server would accept all requests until the server or database crashes...

I have recently been having problems at about 3 pm GMT - 11am EST (?), whereas before it was only every in the evening. I'm not sure why

The other day, it was busy 4-5 times within 8 hours! (and that was during the "slow" period!). 9:00am, 11:00am, 12:30pm, 2:00pm, and 4:00pm (EDT).

It appears to be during the 4 time zone afternoon get off work time in North America.
Can we still hang Gonzo?:D

Poly disables avatars, which are server intensive, during high demand periods.

It's busy (or "too many connections") for me all the time in the last weeks.
Currently there seem to be quite serious problems as almost nobody is posting.

Will there be downtime during the time when the upgrade to the board is implemented? If so how long is it expected to last? Only a few days during the domain expiration entanglement and I was desprately searching the web for something to do...

It is getting worse now: I've gotten it several times in an hour (not even a peak hour). This is quite annoying, because I have to check every 20 minutes to see if the forum is up again.

I have sent Telefragged a few emails about the problem... hopefully they do something about it soon.

Since it started slowing down I have stopped posting using 4 computers at a time and now only use one at a time. Its just my little way of helping out.

 No wonder the forum's slow! :) Why not just use multiple windows?

I think banning Perfection will solve the problem once and for all. :D

TF:

Is the server busy page implemented only at certain times? I got a server crash notice recently.

Perfection:

What are you doing? Ah I know - you are too spolied off of DSL or cable or something. I think that getting Perfection on dial-up will fix the problem.

I disabled that feature yesterday afternoon... probably a bad idea. :o

I now set the load limit warning level fairly high so it will only give server busy message when the server is really busy.

My workstation is hooked up the companies, webserver its firewall, my windows interface and another LINUX box. I stopped doing it about a 2 weeks ago when I noticed the server was bogged down.

Oh it's the office, I see. Such an age gap here on the boards. I'm still only a teenager.

Let's all rally to get the upgrade soon! Like the huge thread to get the old CFC logo back. I read every page of that and laughed at all the things, like a boycott and to hack into his webcam to get TF's street address.

No need for a mega-thread. Just pay a voluntary sum of cash... ;) Servers don't come free.

I'd like to if I had a credit card. IF is the big issue. Maybe Thunderfall can go to Paypal and set up an account asking others to donate for a new server. Vgmusic.com is doing that for a new server.
