Settling Islands

Just the map generator then, Aceman. Try conquering that volcano and wait a few thousand years.

Or use the Editor to make a scenario with a complete volcanic monuntain range. We're talking a couple of dozen volcanoes here... :D

What's the messages again (if you get caught)? "Our warrior was burnt to a crisp", "Our settler was nicely roasted"?

Anyone had a town burnt by a volcano? What happened? :D

When I was playing the scenerio the three sisters (just an hour ago) I finally got to see a volcanoe erupt. Except it errupted the turn before i was just about to move the special unit in the volcanoe and get 6000 points .

And if you're feeling nasty, put 6 volcanoes around every start location except yours

Clump together ALL enemy starting locations in one area of volcanoes, volcanoes and yet more volcanoes. Great way to win your first game on Sid and be able to claim

:mischief: "I won my first game on Sid - conquest, Pangea, huge, raging barbs in 1150 BC" :mischief:

i will settle or take them too.
The farther away from my capital it is, the more likely i end up using
the island as a military base and not realy bother to develop its civilian use.
Just build a port, barracks, airport, maybe even a temple and library for
the culture points.
As others pointed out,,good place for wounded ships to retreat too and
heal up,,,,makes an unsinkable air base,,if you have an airport you can
Reinforce the garrison troops quickly with airlifts.
if you have enough gold the SAMs and Civil defense are highly recomended
quick builds.
If there be fishies or iron or coal,,,,hey hey hey! Bonus!
