Several Japanese Units

Nothing complicated - while making my own scenario I produced a few units based on the Samurai model.

In the zip you will find:

Yari Samurai (Samurai with Keshik weapon, Pikeman animations)

Samurai Archer (Samurai with Chinese Archer weapons and animations)

Yari Cavalry (Mounted Samurai, using the Keshik horse, weapons and animations)

Japanese Warlord (Warlord great person using Samurai model - perhaps my favorite )

One problem is that the Yari Samurai has a shiny spear. The Samurai model contains a shader that makes the sword shiny, and apparently this transfers over to the spear as well. I can't seem to find a way to get rid of it - if I delete the shader, then the spear comes out very dark, almost black.

Anyway, there are already a number of great Japanese feudal units made by seZereth, but I figured I might as well put these out there as well in case someone is interested.

Simply beutiful Andrew_Jay! If they each had a slightly different skin then it would add to the variety.

Yeah, I didn't try to delve into re-skinning the Samurai. I had thought of doing it to better differentiate the unit-types, but felt they are pretty recognisable as it was.

However, there is one re-skin out there, found here.

As i would like to support your great scenario... perhaps you want some Ashigarus (arquebuse, crossbow, spear, katana, cav,...)too?! and perhaps a Naginata, longbow, knight Samurai and perhaps them having Poleflags?! well, download the Warhammer Mod, you will find a whole Civ (NIPON) with unique Models and Altered Textures (i thought i have told you that already when i finished them, but perhaps you will have a look at them now, or at least explain me what you dont like with them. i was actually thinking
about reskinning them, so you have a complete Teamcolour version of all of them... which wouldnt be a problem, let me know...)

It should be no problem extracting them out of their folder and giving them a decent logo on their poleflag... let me know if you need my help here...

I'm currently trying to include your units, Andrew. So far, so good, but I have two questions:

First, do you have buttons for these units? And second, are all the files in those unit folders needed (especially the .kfm files), or can I link some to existing files in other unit folders? Just a matter of saving diskspace.

If this has been around so long, how come I haven't seen more custom warlords in mods? Everyone has been acting like there hasn't been any custom warlords until Chugg and I started doing them.

Well, anyways... I'm stealing this Jap Medieval Warlord for my own mod... even if it's two years old!
