SevoMod 3

The game is fun again, the smile is back.

Two small questions:

1. How can I edit the city names, for some of the names in Israel the spelling is wrong, and since I live there...

2. I want to swap the foreground and background flag colors for the same reason.

Indeed, 1900AD and no popups so far in my game :(. I miss them. If it's Sevomod to blame, i'd like them back. (although I haven't checked the options - maybe the patch 1.61 disabled it somewhere)

Hi Sevo.

I made the game work again. Found out that I had added GIR´s Add-on to your mod, the one with those promotion features. After reinstalling your original 2.9 mod + E patch, the game did not crash.
So I must conclude that GIR´s add-on caused the problem.
However, I liked his promotion features with the heroic promotions. Is that something you will implement in your mod?

Which city names do you want corrected? I can fix them in the main mod as well.

I think I disabled it somewhere along the way...but I don't remember where...if I come across them in my journeys I'll turn 'em back on.

Well, some of it has been implimented, but not all of it. The heroic upgrades I didn't see working in very smoothly, so I left them out.
 
I started playing with the austrians (female leader fin/pro)

Basically when I clicked the units there were some pretty funky samples... I never knew ancient scouts carried synths with em ;)

anyhow that's something to check

Yeaaaaah....I saw that late. I think it snuck it via another mod. Those austrian sounds were just too weird and they threw off the whole feel of the game.

But I'm warning you--The Carib and their steel drum bands of vengence (UU) will return!
 
While the subject of city names is in focus could you change the name of "Iverness" to "Inverness" i'm sure it was just a typo :)

Oh, and i think the nuclear sub could be scaled down a bit, it currently takes up 2tiles! And what about renaming the Navy SEALS to Special Forces or something? As i'm sure you are aware it's ony the US which has Navy SEALS ;)

Not sure if anyone mentioned this or not in any of the previous 32 pages... When I try to use advanced options on a single player game, i.e. when I try to ad more than 12(?) civs to a huge map (i like to play with 16 including me...), it crashes every time - 'encoutered an error and must close' type of error...

But this mod is good enough as is to make me not want to play the vanilla ever again... unbelievably good work.

The french are the only one who has the eifel tower, yet anyone can build it.;) :p

Thanks. I've actually just compressed the final pre-3.0 release for debugging and whatnot. I'll make the fixes you point out but they won't get incorporated until 3.0 final (read on for details).

Huh--that's the first time I've heard that one. Let me look into it. (And thanks for the comments--I'm finding the same thing; going back to vanilla is like...well, going back to vanilla...better than broccoli, but it's no cookies n' cream!)

Anyway, like I mentioned, 2.9z should be up sometime tommorrow night. I'll post all the details of the mod at that time. Should be a pretty stable release, but I know you guys will find the bugs & critters and we can clean it out before calling it a "final" 3.0; I know there are other folks out there deriving mods from this one and I'm trying to keep updates clumped to keep their updating reasonable as well!

This download is 200mb (new movies and units expanded it a bit...really getting out of hand here!). On the plus side it's self-extracting, so it'll be easier to install once you get it downloaded. Check back tomorrow...

guy whos pc crashes with 16+ civs must be yours specific..

I play with Huge map with max civs w/Sevomod and havent crashed yet.
 
Yeah i've just finished a 16 civs game with 2.9e. And no crashes or bugs at all. Just a few minor texts missing and such. Cant wait for the 2.9z release. I've been waiting for it before starting a new game. Will we be able to upgrade from 2.9z to 3.0 with patching?
 
I've researched civil enginering but i still can't spread irrigation over tundra... I hope this intentional cos we snow bound cultures have it hard enough :'(

btw this mod rox :D:D:D
