Famous last words :p

Very sorry guys for holding this up - please skip me this weekend. :cringe: 'I know' - nothing more annoying than waiting for people who end up pulling out!

Unfortunately after next weekend I will be unavailable for the weekend after that, but will continue to lurk.

Again, apologies.

The Thin Roster
Remconius
cabert (UP)
Stuge (on deck)

Cam_H (skip till Oct 14th)
patagonia (skip till Oct 7th)
lordofcivs (A.W.O.L.)
Pigswill (lurking)

the roster is growing thin indeed, hopefully patagonia will come back soon!

This is a "got it". I just reDLed the same save, making it the second time I open the same save, without actually moving. Hopefully, there is no problem with this.

The plan, according to my own opinion , Remco's views, and my shopping list:

- switch to PS
- Go after Isabella
- delay chemistry a bit, to get the GS out of Mecca
- tech chemistry > steel > astronomy
- no whip (at least for now) in barcelona and seville (I'll tie my whipping hand ;))

Inherited turn :
- Whipped the market in murcia, in order to start on the GT.
- started on my todo list
- moved the spear out of toledo towards murcia
- moved the CB out of pasargardae towards persepolis.

turn 361 :
- hindu monastery done in turfan. I start a grocer there.
- uni done in barcelona. I start a grocer there.
- catapult finished in new sarai. I start a courthouse there.
- GT started in murcia.
- troops moving towards barcelona
- GS lightbulbs PP (2907 beakers out of 4000+)
- set back science to 70% to get chemistry now.
- put the scientists on mines in mecca. Maybe those white blouses can help them down there?

turn 362 :
- hinduism spreads to samaria and beshbalik
- workers working, troops moving
- chemistry in. I set research to PP (not on our shopping list, but half lightbulbed, banking is coming in by itself, getting us closer to rifling). Tokugawa already has chemistry!
- I whip the buddhist monastery in samaria
- I whip the lighthouse in beshbalik

turn 363 :
- I switch to theocracy and Police State (3 turns of anarchy)

IBT alexander closes borders. He doesn't want to trade anymore.
Good thing our barb friends have grenadiers :).

Turns 364, 365, under anarchy, troops moving , workers working.

Turn 366 :
- I whip a lighthouse in persepolis, wb in the queue.
- whip a grocer in mecca

turn 367 :
- whip courthouses in pamplona, valencia and new sarai

turn 368 :
- alexander gives us his 180 gold. But he doesn't want to open borders (he doesn't have enough on his hands)
- isabella has nothing to offer. I declare war on her and raze asturias.
- I trade rice to tokugawa for 3 gpt. I hope this will bring him to pleased.

turn 369 :
- samaria revolts. bad luck? not really. I think we need to whip all cultural buildings asap there if we want to stand a chance + fill it up with troops.

Turn 370 : Isabella kills our lone grenadier with a lb :( in the open.

turn 371 :
- He is avenged by a maceman.

turn 374 (Yeah, I didn't want to leave the final shot to anyone else :p):
no more isabella.
Madrid has the sistin chapel, an academy and a courthouse.
Sistin chapel means we will have an easier time on the cultural issue. I immediately assign 3 specialists in persepolis to give it the cultural expansion it requires.

Something strange happened : tokugawa was the first to reach liberalism in 1703. I'm pretty sure cyrus had it already

Stuge, you're up from here.

The Thin Roster
Remconius (on deck)
cabert (cleaned up Isa)
Stuge (UP)

patagonia (skip till Oct 7th)

Pigswill (lurking)

Good stuff cabert!

Nice job wiping out Isa. Who's next?

Toku (toughest, but biggest threat)
Alex (long time friend)
Qin (Out of reach?)

So, let me get this straight. Cyrus was, de facto, first to liberalism. But since he got wiped out, the free tech was up for grabs again? :crazyeye:

"Visions of ridiculous liberalism slingshots pop up... Delay liberalism, kill everyone who gets it. Take assembly line for free, kill everyone else..."

Got it. I'll assess the situation. If Toku doesn't look too big and scary, I might move against him. Thoughts on this?

He IS big and scary. All the more reasons to take him before he takes us out.
Furthermore we have no boats capable of overrunning alexander like we should, and even if we did, Toku's land would be missing to reach domination.

In terms of me being able to play, things have taken a turn for the worse over the weekend. I'm afraid I'm going to have to go on permaskip for the time being.

I'll let you know if I'm able to join the fray before this thing comes to an end. In the meantime I'll be lurking and chip in if I can.

Sorry about this, but being homeless with a MacBook when my PC and Civ DVDs are in storage means I'm kind of stuck.

Apologies again - I knew I was vague ...

I will be available on the weekend of the 6th ... not the 13th of October.

Again - well done on the progress.

I thought you would get your computer back this weekend, meaning you could not play till the weekend after, ie 13th.
