do you guys want me to try to set up a test game starting from a more advanced point, so that we can work on our group strategizing at the same time as we work on Great People, Espionage, and whatever else we need to work on?

I wouldn't really know how to approach such a game - having never even attempted a OCC, and having only ever been trounced by deity.
Can't even begin to visualise what success would look like
But I suppose we could go for a long survival. I should be freer of work commitments by 24 April. Maybe it's worth a shot

I'm certainly up for it. I guess with this one, it will be impossible to be disappointed with our result, given that I will be going into it with zero expectations. But this is one that we could really use The-Hawk's input on, given his HoF experience at this level.
OCC is quite cool. From my experience, it's all about health, and absolute conservation of every single hammer, beaker, and coin. For example, when at war, each unit is precious.

Don't get me wrong. I have next to nothing to offer either, but keen to be involved. I wonder how many people we will actually get for this one. We might need some imports, or there might need to be a temporary merger with another team if we don't get enough people.

Someone needs to convince Moonsinger to sign up - then we'd cane this Deity game easily.
I'm up for it...I've got some experience with OCC games, and with 18 civs, it isn't likely than many of our opponents will get more than 1 city either.
We've got enough production and food in that one city area that we should be able to take out a couple AI through war, perhaps go for a diplo win...I'd feel very comfortable about that, and it'd definitely give us a chance to work on our GP strategies, since an SE is the only way to keep up in tech during an OCC game.
