SGOTM 08 - Chokonuts

Used to be able to see where they were built on top 5 cities screen but can now only see what the top 5 have. If you look closely at each city you can pick them out if you now what to look for. Other than that will need spies.
I think if a unit can see a city then the wonders become visible for that city.
A regular unit should be able to do the job by just going through each city and making a note of the wonders as each city comes out of the fog of war.
edit:
I know what you mean about looking closely. THings like colossus are pretty easy to pick out the others I am not so sure about.

Obviously Holy cities will be easy to spot.

For wonders, since this is BtS, once you build up enough espionage points, can't you view the city screen of enemy ciites?
Or, you shoud be able to click the wonders button (forget where - same place as top 5 citites?) and it will list all wonders and the city they were built in.

I took a look at the save. I think this is how the wonders go.

Delhi
Temple of Solomon, Jewish, Stonehenge,Angor,Hagia,Notre Damme, Taj
Bombay - parthenon
Varanusi-nothing, raze
Madras-nothing, raze
Agra-nothing, raze
Pataliputra-Masjid ul Haram, Islamic
Vijay--gara-Christian, Church of nativity, versaille, spiral minaret
Lahore-owned by charlie but nothing
Calcutta-ditto

the rest
Antium - Statue of Zeus, Pyramids
Arretium - Taoism
GW - Rome
Mausoleum - Lisbon
GLH - bicarte
Athens - kashi vish, hinduism, univ sangakore
Aachen - Budhism

Given this is a turns versus wonders game.
Looks like achieving dom by taking out Rome, Greece and then Celtia? seems like best bet.
We would only miss out on one wonder and a shrine and religion.
Would this happen before electricity and Radio?
Or are we going to have to see what happens with those wonders as well as the Kremlin and Pentagon.

My tech issues are not yet resolved, so I won't be able to open the game for a while. I'll shout when I'm ready again.

I agree with Ozbenno, that when we get closer to a victory, we'll have to do the math, to see what kind of score we can get.

Sounds good. I was surprised at how concentrated the wonders actually were.
A direct consequence of our wonder whore strategy I believe.
I think once Ghandi is dealt with depending on how long it takes the choice will be little clearer.

Looks like its on to me then.
Looks like set will be building more rifles and starting war with Gandhi. What are thoughts about where to go in. It looks like two options are Delhi and Vijay. Delhi I imagine will be better fortified but has direct sea access. Tech wise we will def need steel after Chem as Gandhi will likely have rifles soon. Also need to look for a Democracy trade where possible to eleviate Emancipation unhappiness. I also would like to settle GGeneral somewhere. Either Ulundi (HE) or Chokocentral are possible sites I would prefer Ulundi.
If Charlie starts beating up on Pericles I think we should try to broker a peace deal to avoid vassalization which would hinder our later attempts to wrestle Pericles wonders from him.

Just a thought on first target. If ghandi is close to rifles maybe it is best to take out the tougher delhi fortifications and deal him a big blow before he can start upgrading.
I vote settle GG in Ulundi.

10 played we are now at war although no blood has been shed yet.

10 Galleons of troops are awaiting landing. My choice was on the hill east of Delhi but i have left the troops in galleon for moment in case of any change in plan.

Apart from building rifles not much to mention. Chem is in and approx 6 turns from Steel currently. Gandhi still does not have Rifles yet. 2 more Galleons are on there way to reinforce troops there are also more rifles awaiting pickup. I started a coupe of Frigates to help ease transportation. I also settled the GG in ulundi as mentioned. Nothing to report from Pericles vs Charlie. Only one early GG for Charlie no captured cities.

So best of luck to MC-red enjoy the fight!!

It's :hammer: time baby.

Will pick up save and play in next 24.

Probably post a quick plan incase anyone wants me to do something differently.

sorry for delay i didn't have access to my home computer this weekend.
Will play tonight.

Completed up to 1700 AD

Took Delhi fairly easily but lost a bunch of seige.
Have forces outside Vijay but with little seige taking time to wear down the cultural defense.
GHandi now has frigates which are PITA.
Luckily I have our galleons guarded by two frigates but he has been knocking them out so next person should make sure we have enough frigates.
We now have cannons and most builds are seige.
There maybe some troops on automove to a loading zone on our extreme west coast and some galleons waiting there.
I didn't do anything with the GP's.
Augustus Completed the statue and was willing to trade Democracy. I researched it at 100% for a turn and was able to trade it for map plus some gold from him.
I revolted to emancipation to get rid of the
I then made a number of trades with Jao and Boudica and we went to top of score table.
I made a bone head play when i realized that I could have waited to revolt and for same single turn of anarchy I could have also gone to free market.
Researching Military Tradition and almost done.
Jao declared on Ghandi and Pericles made peace with Charlie.
I got some weird random event which gives +3 health and some chance of a free scientist.
Thought i took a screenie but can't find it. Don't know which city it was.
We have plenty of cash from trades and sack of Delhi. Probably good to upgrade a treb or two.
