you'll wanna keep the 2nd para from LP and possibly some more to garrison Braga with 5-6 units total.

So take Braga with the 3 and then airlift the 2 being built in LP

Once cleared the attackers there and healed, some of them can jump to the city East of it. Then, you'll keep another one to be airlifted to Evora (the southernmost city, in any case. Once took it you'll have 4 there (1 airlifted), you'll jump one if decently healed in the hill NE of the city and move to iron, jump another one right on iron and pillage it while jumping.
Always move at least in pairs.



You'll retreat the ones which will kill the "teleported" stack to Panama and from there they will jump to siege Leiria (our FP city).

So keep all 9 Para to kill the stack the retreat to PC and Jump to Leiria


The ones arriving in Sparta will stay there, ready to jump on the hill (so now you understand my road network) and together with some other para approach Braganza

So don't load up 3 on the Galleon?? All of the troops will pass through Sparta but they need to be on the border at DoW time in order to destroy the teleported stack


You should be able to take Leiria in turn 143
and Faro (the stone city), Braganza and Evora on turn 145.

The paras in Braga will attack the stack close to them, being care to never go out of the city if they cannot be back immediately. Do not promote them until you can give them 2 promos in the same turn.
Then we'll go after Coimbra wjich should fall on 147 and Guimaraes, turn 148.
We'll let the 2 westernmost cities last and concentrate on Lisnona and in case only if we need it to reach Lisbona on the city between it and Coimbra. In fact, the paras can jump to Coimbra 1 tile away from Lisbona and move next to it.

Then, i've found a trick to optimize the turn a city goes out of revolt: the governor puts all artists at work, but you actually need 1 to expand the BFC.

Can Do

Fire them all, then click the minus close to the workers and they will be assigned to the best tiles. Then, you'll keep an artist and assign the other specialists (if any) to your taste.
The following turn, you'll MM the city firing all the specialists and not working any tile.
Click the minus close to the workers and they will be assigned to the best tiles.

It's annoying, but very useful to optimize the production.

Please, please, MM every city every turn and control the trades (techs and resources) every turn before hit enter.

No, load the galleon has priority over anything else.
I mean 1 or 2 units to let in Sparta.

Jump to Vancouver, walk to Sparta.
Jumping from Vancouver is pointless, since you gain nothing. Trust me, tried in all the ways.
Damn Joao can try to land some units by galley. Strangely, but luckily, he doesn't uses the carracks how they can be. Probably the AI can't recognize their power.
As they do with airships. No AI used them to explore more than the few tiles outside their borders. Hammu never met Wang.

Land and then attack...amphibious...I'm pretty sure no one was planning to fight directly from the boat. Maybe a poor choice of words. The point I was trying to make is that having a boatloat of Paratroopers is better than taking up a slot on the boat with the healer. We can airlift the healer on the same turn (or 1 turn after) the city is taken.

Misunderstanding... but an amphibious attack is intended *directly* from the ship in CIV.
For medic i meant the Para with medic1, not the GG.
BTW that guy is at 9 xp, thus with a fight he can arrive to medic2.

The GG will need to stay with the main stack. and be carefully watched. :( :cry: :mad:

Why not move the GG to Blubz and Airlift him to Leiria as soon as we take it?
 
I had really good results airlifting the GG into a city in the middle of Joao's empire in my test games. It also worked out well airlifting him into Babylon in the real game. As long as he is central to the war effort, wounded units can be moved to that city to heal and then jump back out to attack another city.
 
The war and mopping up the counter attack plans all look good to me, and I don't think anything's been overlooked. I'm not sure I can even add anything of use, now. :) I'm all for airlifting the healer, tho.

Once completed Versailles we can trade DR for money and/or music.
Not that we need it, but...

TS completed.

Everything went better than hoped for. I took the extra turn plus the beginning of turn 144 for two reasons: (1) My TS started on 137 yet the previous TS had completed all but a couple of troop moves on that turn so I really didn't get 137 as part of my TS; (2) Braganza had a couple trebs left and I wanted to finish the fight :sniper:

Also the game locked up on turn 143 at the very beginning when Shaka wanted to trade maps. I reloaded the autosave and moved on since there was nothing to replay. I sent a PM to AlanH.

Highlights
1. I popped a GG on the first turn of war. We hadn't decide what to do with him so I built another scout; oops, forget that I just put him to sleep and we can decide what to do with him.
2. I took the Barbarian city Braga.
3. I took Leiria
4. I took Braganza
5. I took Faro. We now have stone so LP is building Oklahoma University (OU) GO SOONERS!!
6. I traded Lib to HC for 250+ gold
7. I traded Drama to Stalin for 150 gold
8. I traded Drama to WC for 110 gold
9. I traded Drama to Shaka for 150 gold
10. I increased research to 60%
11. I finished Chem
12. I finished Bio
13. I started PP towards Dem
14. I finished Versailles.
15. I lost no troops. Zip, Zero, None. We now have 28 Para

That's all I can remember so that must be all that happened.

Lowlights or things that Blubz will yell at me about. :spank:

1. Delayed start of war 1 turn because even following all the recommended troop movements I still couldn't convince those dang troops to get to that border and be ready to attack on turn 140. I screamed at them but they failed to listen :aargh:
2. Even though Joao completed GP, he had mostly LB and Mace not many Musket so I promoted 2 Para to C3 instead of Pinch. :bowdown:
3. I didn't like the idea of having 3 para on a boat for 3 tuns traveling to Evora with only 1 frigate to escort so I made a command decision and landed outside of Faro and took our stone. :ar15:


I also can't think of any other things to get yelled at for so ...

I was playing the last scenario of FfH waiting for your report, before go sleep.

Not bad. I remember that in my test i has some 6-8 paras on the border, not all.

I think that if the boats are there we can safely travel to Evora: the AI will never dare to attack a frigate with caravels/carracks.

Since we have the GE, the soon we have Democracy, the better. Finiched it, Corporations.

I think the best use for the GG is on our HE city. We'll probably pop one more before the end of this (hopefully) last war, and we can settle him in LP for the :science:.

Let's try to figure where is better build the SoL: Blubz, Babylon, Nippur are the best candidates, probably. We need a decent population to squeeze the max from the GE and possibly some forest to chop.

I'll take a look on the save tomorrow.

I forgot all about the WM I just built in Vancouver. Sorry! As far as Paras go, don't we have 28 now. I thought that was what the military advisor said. I didn't count the ones in the queues since we could stop them if we want.

After we finish building the current paras, I think we can stop and switch to needed infrastructure and research. What we have should be enough to finish off Joao. I don't have time to run any tests currently (school) but I think if run optimally, we should be able to finish Joao in less than 10 more turns probably 6-8. After that we need to decide what to do with all those troops. Just having them sit in the cities seems a waste. We might want to discuss Mesix's idea of rolling Stalin and creating a colony in Europe. If done correctly, I don't see a downside other than some minor war weariness. I'm not saying we have to do it but it would be worth talking about.
