SGOTM 14 Maintenance Thread

We should blacklist AlanH for this thread to give Renata a chance to take over :-).
 
Renata has been suffering from a heavy cold, so I thought I should try to help where I can.
 
I note that there is an option to set it to add 2 to ship movement in the C3C editor. However, that was not an option when differential naval movement was first introduced in Civ3 vanilla/PtW - Add 1 was the only option.

I guess we could change the mod for future games, but I don't think it would be fair to patch the game files for his one, half way through.
 
Actually, I think the +1 is quite enough even under differential movement. This is because the Lighthouse also allows ships to camp on sea tiles, which makes them much faster over multi-turn trips, because they need spend less time wallowing through the shallows.
 
But it would be more interesting for Maggelans Voyage I think, Only the speed Advanatge exists.
 
Is it just me, or are we playing the 'no improving marsh' variant again?
 
No, I had the same issue: in my last turnset I tried to clear a marsh tile, so I can settle a town there, and it wouldn't let me. I didn't pay much attention to it, just thought we don't have the necessary technology yet for clearing marshes. But now that you mention it, I checked the tech-tree, and none of the techs says something like "New worker capability: clear marshes" ... :confused:
So what's the problem?

Yep. We do.

But every team had the same effort of a couple of wasted worker turns to find out and a spoiled city placement with an extra culture boost needed to fill the resulting gap :p
 
Yep, it's another bug left over from the conversion of the old vanilla SGOTM scenario file to C3C. Volcanoes are impassable as well. I will review the whole .biq file again before the next game.

Oo yes, I noticed that a couple of sets ago, but didn't think to grumble about it.
I assumed it was a problem with the game, since it was also the case in the last SG, but thought I'd better check as I am playing on a relatively new installation of C3C.

Well, there will if enough people turn up! If we only get one or two teams, I'm not sure it's worth going the whole nine yards. You might just as well play a normal SG.
