SGOTM 20 - The Shawshank Redemption

No trade symbol to France yet, but I suspect that is because his borders have now poped to file the Istanbul voide yet... He has a city connect by coast, but right now, his borders stops on the land. With the istanbul culture gone, I think they should pop back, and then will give us a connection (Tho actually, do we not need sailing for that???)
 
RIght, forgot about masonry... We can add a WB to the whipping plans... That should get us about to masonry, I think.

I am not sure what you are suggesting we track with Edrin culture...

yea, we need sailing, but I think the arrows show anyway and will let us know if Sailing will actually do anything for us.

Whipping a WB is no better than slow building the GLH since the WB is 30H... Sure, you get a WB out of the deal but you don't "gain" hammers.

In other words, put 5H into a WB, yet get those same 5H OF into the next build.
 
So I'd suggest setting up the LH and library whips (and possibly do them depending on how many turns you play) but don't set up a WB whip just yet.

Yes, BUT... We can put the hammers into the WB without massonry.... It does not gain hamers, but it converts pre masonry hammer into post masonry hammers...

Exactly. Like I wrote earlier, we are technically starting GLH "now". All hammers we put into wb, library, lh, will eventually just overflow in GLH.
Even more technially, we started GLH a couple turns ago with those hammers we put into that chariot.

I like how you get a vicarious thrill out of our progress :).
It's rare that our team has played more turns than anyone else, so it's nice to be the team that first hits the milestones.

You could just download our save to get an eyeful.

Lurkers can access all team saves, right? If so, you may have to wait to see carnage Jastrow rained down on Suleiman until he uploads the save, just like us! :mischief: :p

To be precise, we're going to get Myst also (before Masonry) even tho we could go straight to masonry.
 
OK, I played a couple of turns, and something came up...

It is 11pm, and I am starting to feel a bit drowsy, so while this is something we could discuss now, I dont want to push on any further... I am uploading the save and ending my turnset...

Someone else should take it now, at least until next Tuesday... I could take it up again next Wednesday, if no-one else has time, but am also happy to wait my next normal turn in the rotation if other can find the time to play.

What came up?

I decided to use one worker to road sheep (se we can hopefully trade it once we get trade routes), and was planning to roa cows next. The other headed to road towards copper-city, with the idea of also chopping the square on which copper city will cite, since it is worth at least a hew hammers... It was being escorted by two chariots in the area to fogbust...

Well, ibt, TWO! barb archers appeared next to one of the escort chariots. The worker is NOT in danger, and can retreat... Both chariots can still move... There is no real problem immeditely, but attacking a double archer in a forrest zone is expensive, and we need to clear them in order to get the city there, so some luring/barb dancing needs to be planned out...

I would back away from the archers and kill them in open terrain.
Our worker will probably have to cottage at Ruins-N or Ruins-SW 1 turn (post a sign on the partial)

OMG, having Istanbul is such a game-breaker. Our unit cost has gone to zero on top of all the other benefits.
