Turnset Report T95-T98

T95

T96
Bronze Working liberated from Darius. All AIs have IW. All but Brennus have Math.
One lousy copper tile at HC-5E2N. Mecca's 1f5h must be an iron mine.
We revolt to HeredRule+Slavery.
Angle is barb city between Hadr and us.

T97
Ghuzz is Barb Cows city. Pop1 still.
AIs still REXing, Brennus has 8 cities, Gilga has 7, Sal has a settler in Medina.

T98
Hannibal will talk, but claims peace is not possible. No worker on ssw ivory yet.
DaGift finally revolts again.
Iron Working confiscated from Darius. Only close iron tile is on ice, at deer-2S, fish-2W.

Save uploaded.

We have our work cut out for us. Need a settler, 5 more chariots, monument, pop10, galley. Should we settle on the iron or betwixt deer, fish, and iron? Notice that if we had settled gems, then only the crappy on-the-iron site would be possible.

How many wkr-t to connect icy iron? 8?

We could tech Sailing while stealing Math, build a settler(4t)-monument in Rome, while chopping a galley in HC. Get iron pretty fast with 2 workers busting their butts. Still need the 5 chariots. FC has a partial...in short, we need to optimize this.

IronCity could eventually replace FC as our galley pump, with FC switching to units. NOn-optimal, but what can we do, other than tech HBR?

Wow, "no" iron.

I'm inclined to settle on iron, build a bunch of praets, capture Baghdad->Mecca, then gift IronCity to Darius.

Of course we could also tech HBR and capture some iron with HAs, but that would probably be slower and less reliable.

Most AI have Monarchy and could get Feudalism very soon.

Yes! This is an excellent idea. Baghdad+Mecca would be cities #6+#7. That might be a tall order. It would be nice to capture Baghdad, then gift it away temporarily, which also frees us from defending it, but I don't see anyone close enough to accept it. Does this force us to capture Mecca first? We need to find out if Mecca will lose the iron tile to Damascus or Najran culture.

Have you tried to get peace after stealing IW, and while we were still threatening his city?
No. Woodie is peeking at the ivory each turn then backing off. I'm hoping we steal a worker then immediately CF.

We have our work cut out for us. Need a settler, 5 more chariots, monument, pop10, galley.
- Rome needs 4 turns for the settler + 4 turns for growing to pop10. Target date for settling IronCity: t106
- Galley has to come from HC, if we want to settle IC asap. A FC galley would take too long to get there
- HC galley needs to be out t104
- Assuming no spies lost (wishful thinking?), we steal Sailing on t100 and Math on t102. So Math would be in time for the chop (t103). HC winery on t101. Math not required to finish galley in time.
- Send warrior along with settler, to ensure he doesn't get eaten by barbs
- HC can't finish a chariot until t105. Could build one on t106.
- Rome can build x chariots (for x chops) after the monument. One more chariot until t107.
- FC can build 2+y chariots (for y chops/1-whips) after worker whip
- Bovino could 1-whip a chariot

Conclusion:
T106 IC is possible, but requires 2 chops and 1 whip (Bovino). FC and Rome wineries delayed.
T107 requires only 1 chop and no extra whips and would allow us to get the wineries online earlier.

why not send 2 warriors? or more? with settler. They have almost no purpose for Rome any more.

NO CHOPPING in Rome...please.
Those forests have to go towards wonders. The easiest way to lose this game is to end up chasing wonders up the tech tree and getting beaten to them.

Thanks, Pollina. For some reason I think better with a plan in front of me. We could 2whip a settler in FC also, but that delays the worker. Here's a variation on your plan:

Rome: monument(1t=13h, pop9)-settler(4t@28hpt=112fh==>8hOF, right?)-monu(1t=34h)-chariot6(2t=30h)
HC: granary(2t)-galley(2or3t+chop)-chariot7(2or3t)
FC: wkr(1t=29h)-wkr(2whip+1t=97h)-char8(1t=42h)-char9(2t+chop=52h)-char10(2t=32h)
Bovino: granary

T106 w/Math, T107 w/o Math, whips only FC, chops FC and HC once each.

On T105 wkrs have completed 2 chops, 4 more wineries, 3/5 of 2nd Bovino winery.

Works for me. :)

Turnset Report T98-T105

T98 --

T99
Capture slave#2, CF with Hannibal.
Sal's Damascus will keep the iron tile. Pop10 on flat grass w/CGIII DrillII archer on top. :) Tons of forests. Unknown food resources. Separated from Mecca by lots of water. Galley transport absolutely the solution. We'll need a scout to determine if worth keeping.
Mecca has a 1f1h6c incense.
Great Sci born somewhere.

T100
We're Sailing!!! Finally we can trade with all AIs, most notably Darius. We can get deer and cows, if we choose. We get a 3cpt TR with Tolosa (pop13), 9cpt total, but of course lose the TR with DaGift.
Another Great Sci born somewhere.
Hinduism spreads to Carthage. (saw a Sal miss at Hadr a few turns ago)
Medina has a 5f1h1c floodplains/plains tile and a 1f1h6c incense.
DaGift has second consecutive revolt.
Gilga, Hannibal and Sal all have HBR by the way.

T101
Pliny charts the most powerful: Brennus, Sal, Gilga, Zara, Hanni, Darius. We're hopeless.
Sal's Najran is a genuine piece of crap.
Woodie+slave#2 are unavoidably threatened by a barb archer. Pray for their souls.
Darius has sent a Buddhist missionary our way, coming from the NW as we suspected.

T102
Woodie teaches the barb archer a lesson.
Our spy stumbles upon an abacus!!!
Medina(Sal) and someone else spawn GProphets.
Sheesh. Construction= Sal+Hanni+Zara. Calendar=Hanni+Sal+Gilga. I'll be surprised if every team wins this game.
Darius is turning out to be one of the slower techers. We need to chain-gift a pile of crap cities to these other characters. I wish.
DaGift comes out of revolt and captures our forest at HC-2W1N. We'll get it back before long.

T103
Sal has Currency.
Sal builds the Temple of Solomon in Medina.
Damascus is pop12 with magical fish, furs, deer, sheep (not even pastured yet), and 11 forests. Probably worth dumping a city for.

T104
Crap! Hanging Gardens built somewhere.
Darius finally completes Construction and gladly gives it to us.
2 barb archers near iron. COuld be a problem. I forgot to put a warrior together with the settler. All on land. :(
We spy Persian culture, just north of Sal.

T105
Barb archer kills 1 warrior, @2.4/3, other barb archer goes into fog. No way to land this turn.

We could lure 2.4 farther north, sacrificing another warrior and hope the other archer goes farther west. We could also load a chariot onto the galley and build another in Rome, increasing chances of settling T108, if not possible on T107.

UPLOADED to examine.

***END OF TURNSET***

Looks like FifthElement either didn't try for GW, or missed it.
I don't wish that on anyone, but it will be interesting to hear their tales.

Looks like we will lose MoM along with HG since we don't have Calendar and it's not coming...or is it? What did Darius pick? Currency?

Construction:
So we can do cats and...don't forget, cross rivers.

Does Hanni have it too? Cus then he's got War Elephants.
