[BTS] SGOTM 24 Turbo Ants

I'm pausing briefly just in case someone wants to try to talk me out of it. The capture gold will bring Writing early too.

update: The deed is done. playing on.

Well done, Maestro! I'm pleased you got your excitement after all! We should have thought of Darius bringing his immortals, but you're right, they seem to get some sort of a bonus.

Plus, now no more worries about those barb archers giving us grief at 1n3e or the corn tile. Excellent. Was it at p4 or p5?

When it pops its borders we'll only need two spawn busters totally, iiuc.

Yep, we bust that one south tile until T79. city is size 3, so we grow and whip granary, then probably workboats.

Assuming TAT does a settler in about 9 turns. Where does it go? The south now will have a workboat builder, but I think stone is the smart thing. And then we need a couple islands.

Writing is now T72 instead of 75.
Maybe T71 if I try really hard.

Forgot Gaul comes out of resistance and we get Writing T71

I'm now thinking TAT will delay the settler a bit to do the library (7->4 whip or even 8->5). We'll be happy at size 7 soon. That will make the settler timed pretty well to board a boat.
Or it can just pump out settler, whipped settler. Library is 5 beakers. Is TAT going to make a GS? I figured that was a job for 2Corn, but maybe they both do it.

I'll play some more cus we need the warrior in TAT next no matter what.

If we're in no hurry to tech anything after Writing, then it's a good opportunity to set the slider to 0% until we build any libraries we want. If we want to be maxOF whipping hammers into Maui then stone before the two islands makes sense so we can maxOF whip the island settlers. They give more hammers than maxOF on libraries. Furthermore, those two libraries are inland so no Maui. Do we want to put OF hammers into Pyramids also? Where to whip the settlers? 3Fish and Gaul? or Cow? Or time the Gaul granary whip for after Stone is settled? COw CIty can also put raw hammers into Maui so no real need to maxOF whip anything there.

Actually, if we're going to put Maui in Cow, then we generally want to grow it to maxPop and have no whip unhappiness there. We'll want to grow it pop10 or pop11 at least. BUt then it should also have a library.

Our first island city will provide +7 more from TRs than, for example, stone city.
Could we lose stone to Darius?
I guess we should assume that we can get more settlers timed with T82 GLH, so grab stone first. Also, the islands could suck.

If we're going to set the slider to 0% and not needing any tech, then we could go at 0% for a while actually. So there's no exact urgency to build the libraries other than before we move the slider back. We can simply focus on REX and maxOFing Maui, right? Then whip the libraries at the end. Unless we want to ensure the second GP is a GS. When will Cow get to 200 gps? 7t@4 + 22t@8 = t104, right? Library city will need 17t, so that starts on t87 in TAT or t86 elsewhere.

The islands look like they suck, so I'm assuming they do. N2Fish at least can borrow those fish. That might even be the best place for Maui. It could work 10 coastal tiles without the 2 fish tiles after it grows to pop10. Anyway our happy cap will be limited for some time so 3Fish doesn't necessarily need the fish all the time.

SHould we also build Pig-SW? With SH it will have the clams soon enough, the 3FIsh mine for a lh and two lakes to work. We could get delirious building settlers if we want.

Better make sure we get GLH first...

The more cities we have, the more failgold we can produce, right? I see 10 cities right now and that gives us your 1 failgold whip every turn, roughly speaking. That can support maintenance costs of 70gpt.

The reasonably fast way we can settle stone would be if TAT grew to 7 in 4 turns. Build 1t settler.
Whip it on T72. City is created T79.
Compared to T82 if we don't whip. Maybe T81.

We can shorten either way by 1t if we burn worker turns roading east instead of Deer and cows
no, I guess Oasis prevents that

Whatever you think is best. We probably shouldn't delay too long. T71 we get OBs with Darius and find out what he's building in his capital. Maybe that will allow us to decide whether we need to hurry. He'll need several turns to get to the stone too, right? The stone is only 7 tiles from his capital so it's relatively close for him to pull that trigger.

Well, I don't think I should play long enough to have to decide on the settler. It's been 15 turns already.
I'm thinking of going one more turn to T68, but I can't decide what to do with the 5 hammers 2corn has this turn. I figure it starts a library in 3 turns, so it could almost get a warrior out first. We don't really need another warrior right now, but it wouldn't hurt.
or just drop 7-12 hammers into Mids pre-stone.

Next turn Gaul is online and we need to figure out who gets the corns. Gaul could grow to 4 and 2 whip, or just build the granary and 1-whip. Or just build it, no whip-- let 2corn use 2 corn.

Looks like Dancing Bears got Oracle on t62. Boy are they lucky they hustled. Fippy et al were ahead of us last time, I think, when they quit. This is going to be a dogfight.
