So on your run the Americans started to capture the barb cities.

They captured 3 or 4 of them in the first 100 turns but of course by then all the human teams had won or were nearly finished.

So from world builder.

French - Astronomy and edu
Toku - CS
Americans - refrigeration and industrialism. They lacked rifling and other techs so this was never going to happen.
English Banking, RP and rifles.
Germans - Assembly line and industrialism. Lacked rifling.
Romans - banking
Russians - Super conductor.
Mehmed - Edu.

Still not sure what any of these techs were supposed to do.

I think it was part of Sossos' diabolical plan to raise the average tech age high enough so that barbs and barb galleys would not spawn. (barb cities still spawned though)
Toku having Civil Service and England having Rifling were two near-disasters for my team.

The extra techs also gave a small boost for any teams trying to steal their way towards corporations.
