On a more serious note, for Gator and Leif in particular, if the game doesn't get to me by early Sunday afternoon, I won't be able to play until next Friday.

Thanks. :)

Depending upon Gator's completion time, we can switch if you would like? Let's see what happens and we can figure it out then... ;)

I'll have it posted today. After the 4am airport trip and a 9 hour work day I fell asleep in my chair last night. But I just finished up at the golf tourney and will be finishing up my set tonight.

rCav vrs 1/3 rMusket - we win, capture city and see a strange looking wooden structure sink

move balance of troops to attack Warwick next turn (although it's been building Bach's for a long time now)

Notes to next player
1) There are a few formerly ENG cities with resistence that have no troops in them, once we take Warwick we need to quell the resistence in them
2) Keep up buying Cavs in Korr, you have 4 there now and 1 more next turn. I'd shoot for 8-10 cavs before launching attack. They now have 3 off island cities. When we redeclare on them we need to get them down to 1 mainland city then try to sue for all 3 cities at once.
3) Norwich is looking like it could be a problem. We can't capture both of ENG big cities or their capital will jump to Norwich and it is getting too big for them to give up. We may want to make an embassy with VIK and have them declare on ENG also. Maybe we can get thenm to attack Norwich.
4) Not sure how long our GA will last. WW will be a problem when that ends.
5) Treasury has 4586gold in it and we are pulling in 1181gpt currently
6) I've got a settler near where Lutetia was, we're down to only 4 cavs there so we may need to buy 1 later if ROM gets frisky. Don't leave them inside cities in case of flips.
7) Check for happiness, I forgot to

A quick look at former ENG holdings

:woohoo: Very nice turn set Gator!!:goodjob:   :hatsoff:

- Just played! :worship:

I am planning to start tomorrow evening, early as I can in order to get it to Willow by Saturday evening, definately before Sunday morning. Of course, I don't want to rush things too much as it looks like things are starting to get complicated. All ideas and comments are welcome. :D

BTW - Our territory graph is looking really good now. All we need is a Roman or Japanese city on the main island and get Norwich. We'll have to think about that one.:hmm:

Excellent turnset, Gato  :worship:
Thanks for getting Norrk. back

Yes, Norwich will be the test. Capitol will jump to Liverpool after we take Warwick so perhaps then?
If not, I think we should just stay at war with the English for as long as we can. We may get lucky and the Eng will build another city on the Norwich island. I'm a little surprised they haven't done that yet. There's also the possibility that they will tire of the war if we take Dover after getting one of the icy Roman cities in a peace deal.
Once we can get Norwich, we should take the deal and declare imidiately to leave England in the north with nowhere to go until they build harbour + ship + settler

Good luck, leif :)

Good job! The blue is spreading.... :woohoo: :p

The English did have another settlement on Norwich Island many, many turns ago. The Vikings destroyed it.

And, yes, we need to be VERY sure the capital doesn't jump there, or our victory date would entirely be luck.

Note that Hippo Regius would also give us a foothold on Dover Island, should Rome be in the mood.

Nothing else I can think of at the moment to comment on...

Good luck, Leif!

A quick update for those who may be interested.

I've completed 4 turns thus far.

Selsucia flipped back to Rome on the first interturn! But we took it back 2 turns later. :mischief: Warwick is ours but no Norwich thus far. I have made a temporary peace with Rome and got Hippo Reglus for it. :D I've rushed a Harbor and a Barracks and next turn its Cavs and the march to Dover. :spank:

We nearly got Kagoshima for peace with Rome instead of Hippo, but couldn't find the one little tidbit Rome needed to give it up. :shakehead After we get Artaxata, perhaps he'll give it up.

Next turn will be a declaration on Japan as all Roman cities are gone from the Seleucia island, unless they start flipping again.

Oh, the Golden Age is ending this turn as well. More to come!

It was an interesting turn set, full of little decisions. I hope I made the right ones. :mischief:

The good news is that we now control everything off the main continents except a small Japanese island to the south, a small Japanese/Roman island near Seleucia, Bjoergvin, near Chicago and Norwich. England is at war with The Vikings and The Vikings have three Vet Swords sitting next to Norwich. I am anxious to see what happens? Rome was nearly ready to give us Kagoshima, but I couldn't find anything to seal the deal. As I say later, I think we need to try to push Ceasar hard and he might give it up.

The bad news is that Tokugawa won't even consider giving us anything for peace, atm. Although Rome has taken another of his cities.

Here is the SAVE.

The turn log follows:
Pre-Flight – Turn 210 – 950 AD
Happiness is in check, barely! Tried to turn the lux slider down but would have to starve some cities to keep from rioting.
Hmmm, we need more Lux, let’s see where they are? There are spices on the small island we are conquering now and Silks, Ivory, Wool and Furs on the Rome/Japan continent. So one of our goals should be to hook up those spices as soon as we can.
There are 4 turns left in our GA.
We are at peace with The Vikings and Japan. We are receiving 37 GPT from Japan.
Build an embassy with The Vikings for 33 Gold. Nidaros has 5 citizen, two are clowns and the other three are content. It ios building a temple and has 3 Regular Pikes for defenders. They are building a Temple with 11 turns to completion!
Visit the Vikings and ask about a Military Alliance. They want Wines, Horses, Engineering, Monotheism, World Map and 1390 Gold. Nothing shy about these guys! ;)
We settle on Wines, Engineering, Monotheism, World Map and 74 GPT. The Vikings declare on the English.
Press enter.

Prepare to attack Japan.

4/4 Cav attacks 4/4 English Axe near Viroconium and retreats, Axe is 2/4?
4/4 Cav attacks 2/4 Axe and kills him flawlessly.

Set Warwick, Hastings and York to starve. Rush a Settler in London for 88 Gold.

Dial up Lizzie and she is being obstinante!
Dial up Caesar. I ask for Kagoshima and he says we are getting close to a deal but he won’t take anything else I offer. So, I have to settle for Hippo Regius and 10 Gold. At least we can get his other city and, more importantly, the English city up north!

Unfortunately, Hippo has nothing in it so we rush a Worker for 80 Gold and a Harbor for 280 Gold.

Rush Workers and then Cavs in Norr, Seleucia and Hippo. Shoiuldn’t need too many more in Seleucia.
While we have 9 Cavs near Norr, I think it best to allow the three Galleys headed for Norwich to get there before I declare on The Vikings. That is 3 to 4 turns away.
Move Cavs to attack position against Japan.

Willow, please note that the units near Norrkoping have NOT been moved, so if you decide to declare on The Vikings, all those Cavs are free for you to move and attack with!

After Action Report
The Vikings, just last inter-turn, traded for Invention. Berserks are now in play. I decided to leave the decision to go to war with the Vikings to Willow. You have plenty of Cavs for some fun in Viking land and I recommend you take advantage soonest.
Tokugawa will talk but he is no mood to give us anything.

Militarily, we are strong compared to everyone. While I hope it wasn’t a mistake, I held off attacking The Vikings because I was hoping they would take Norwich, and they might. I recommend that once we see what happens there, we should immediately take down the Vikings. I hope they get Norwich. That also means that taking out England would be a great idea so Norwich cannot flip back to England.

We are also ready to re-declare on Rome. I think that we should consider gifting a city or two to Rome in addition to taking out Artaxata. Ceasar was almost ready to give us Kagoshima and if we push him, he might. I have to say that I am optomistic about our chances, especially if Norwich falls to The Vikings.

Please remember that Japan has 2 cities off of their continent; Hakodate and Ise, located just east of Philadelphia, and a third, Tarentum, located with the Roman city of Jerusalem located just east of Seleucia. The Vikings have one off island city, Bjoergvin, just west of Chicago. We all know about Norwich, which may become a Viking city soon.

We are out of our Golden Age and are making 753 GPT with a Treasury of 6,467 Gold. Our sliders are set at zero research and 20% Lux.

Willow, please feel free to change any city build. Good luck!!

Got it! Looking good! :goodjob:

The Vikings have one off island city, Bjoergvin, just west of Chicago. We all know about Norwich, which may become a Viking city soon.

And 2 more cities just off the coast of their main island.

BTW, good turnset leif. I think you did the right thing in waiting for the VIK to go after Norwich. There has to be a future resource there which is why they won't give it to us.

Keep up the pressure Willow. Lie cheat steal bribe threaten or what ever it takes to get us a city on the JPN/ROM mainland.

Territory graph does look good.

This is going to be a fun rotation. We have a very good chance for an award. Whether it's a laurel or a spoon is yet to be determined. If we can get to the main island quickly and clean up this small islands we can finish in first. If we can't cleanup the small islands we could be looking at a spoon.

Lizzie might be holding on to Norwich due to the horses, which will be inside city borders on cultural expansion?
