Share your computer pranks!

One of the better ones is to open up the standard include files ( pref. iostream , as nearly everyone uses that for their work ) , then add something like

#define true 0
#define flase 1
#define NULL 1

Completely and totally messes up everything , but is well-nigh impossible to debug .

On the Macs in my grade school (7th grade) they had a crappy game called Oregon Trail. I edited it with ResEdit so instead of "John has broken his arm" - "John sprained his wrist masturbating" and instead of "Jane has come down with the flu" - "Jane has come down with gonorrhea". Stuff like that. It was fun. :)

Hey! I like that game! I played it in grades 1-3. Fun.

Which reminds me, I should try to reinstall it, or maybe give it back to my friend, when he finds Midtown Madness 2.

This thread rules! :lol::eek:

If I had knowen how to do this in grade 9 I WOULD have gotten this F***t*** expelled. But Since it is a BC highschool I don't think it would work as well as everyone has their own account and can use any of the computers, plus we never were in the library at the same time. Although I did consider puching him into the acid tank in the electronics room, not seriously thoguh, I couldn't do that, hiring thugs on the other hand...

Just thought of another really evil prank you can do at school with the netsend program in my sig (if your school has rules against the messaging with computers)! I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you hate or want to get revenge against the person you 'do it to'.

The Prank:

1a. Bring my sig program to school on a disk and secretly get it on your computer. Do not, repeat, do not let ANYONE know that you have such a program if you want this to be effective and if you don't want to get yourself in trouble.

1b. Find the computer name of someone you hate at school. If the names are on the front of the computer then this prank is perfect for finding the name, and what should happen after you do it.

2. Think of the nastiest message you can think of (something that would even disturb administrators and something that you can't say here). Even better, make it some kind of threat (I wouldn't recommend doing that though). (You're really gonna like this next part...)

3. Send this message to your own computer using the other person's computer name as the 'FROM' name when using the program! That's right! Send the nastiest message on the face of the earth to your own computer 'from' someone who you really hate and want to get in trouble!

4. Don't click out of the message just yet (that person's computer name will be on the message). Go notify the instructor/teacher or whatever that you got this message. DO NOT BLOW THE PRANK BY SAYING WHO YOU GOT THE MESSAGE FROM. THE TEACHER WILL IMMEDIATELY KNOW SOMETHING IS FISHY IF YOU SAY YOU GOT THE MESSAGE FROM A SPECIFIC PERSON. The teacher may have to search around for their computer, but when it is found, they will get in major trouble. They will try to deny it but nobody will believe them cause the teacher will have printed the message out or wrote it down as proof.

5. Immediately remove the program from the computer and make sure it is completely gone and not just in the recycle bin.

Again, if you only want harmless fun and don't want to get anyone suspended from school, 'water down' the message a little and don't make it a threat because it is illegal to send threats over the internet.

Use at your own risk.
I have not actually tried this yet due to a minor setback with me getting in trouble for messaging earlier this week (I shouldn't even really be on my computer right now cause I should be grounded).

absolutely hilarious, that game kept us occupied forever. If I had the computer knowledge in fifth grade and had actually known what masturbating and gonnorhea were, I would have done that. Thanks for the hilarity.

Yeah I was like in 4th grade when I played Oregon Trail so like what you said ;)

Bad, bad, bad news guys! My computer pranking days at school are over (btw, last semester was the best when it came to me pranking the crap out of everyone; everyone who sat near me hated me ;) ).

Say hello to FORTRES 101, the evilest of all evils when it come to computers.

What are some notable features of this new software (that the school administrators discovered), you ask?

1. No right clicking (except in programs like Microsoft Word)
2. No desktop tampering WHATSOEVER (you can't even select more than 1 icon at a time)
3. No running of any .exe files not specified by administrator

The kinda scary 1984 type feature
4. The teacher can view any computer in the room's screen and freeze it to catch you doing stuff you shouldn't be doing

This program like gives Windows a labotomy. You can't do anything with it anymore, and when I say anything, I mean eh nee thing.

I do know how to get into it (ctrl + shift + f), but that only brings up a password dialog box. Now to get the password :satan:

Oh, and you see that kid on the top of that webpage (the one who's all pissed off)? That's pretty much what I look like in that class now!

*cough*Knoppix CD*cough*

:mischief:

I think I read something about that. Something about some kids "hacked" into that program and viewed the teacher's screen.

That would be cool...

And what was the teacher doing? ;)

Remove the video card and place a strip of high-quality scotch tape along its connecters and plug it back in. I would NOT do this on any modern system as the connecters are smaller now. This was back in the high-end mighty 8-bit ISA days.

Don't know. The article didn't say.

This might help.....(i dont reccomend it though...)...and it isnt for v5

- I visited a smallish science center in late 80's... there was a speech syntethizer in C64, written in BASIC. I remember changing the usual greeting for some obscenity...

- I was an usual prank against computer studies teacher to adjust the Apple monitor brightness into black when leaving the class.

- When using the UNIX terminals was more common in university I piped stuff for friends sitting nearby, like: banner hello|write <friend> :) (If you don't know this will put anything you would see in your monitor into someone else's monitor....)

Swap the left and right mouse buttons, as you would for a left-handed mouse. Simple, but works like a charm.

Oh, and while you're at it, you could activate the mouse trail - I'd guess that'll make some people think there is something broken...

Open notepad- paste this :

Set WshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")

WshShell.RegWrite "HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Colors\Background", "255 0 222", "REG_SZ"

Save as blah.vbs (make sure its on all files not txt)

And run on nearest domain XP computer, will make the logon colour pink. To reverse, just edit the numbers in the script back to the RGB default value, which i think is 0 78 152.

But still my favourite is to put this:
MsgBox "D:\ CONTAINS HARMFULL MATERIAL, INCLUDING VEGEMITE",vbcritical,"WARNING"

Set oWMP = CreateObject("WMPlayer.OCX.7")
Set colCDROMs = oWMP.cdromCollection

if colCDROMs.Count >= 1 then
For i = 0 to colCDROMs.Count - 1
colCDROMs.Item(i).Eject
Next ' cdrom
End If

(same method as before, make a vbs file)
And chuck it in the start up folder.
/If any one knows how to compile the first script so it still works plz let me know, email, or pm- or just reply....as the ***** admins at my school hav blocked the use of scripts on the server.

One of the best pranks I ever pulled was during the last day of gr.11. A friend and I were walking around the school, bored, when we saw that the Math computer lab was open.

We loaded up a different porn pic. on each computer screen, made them all to face the main door, and ran off.

This was a catholic highschool - so we weren't surprised to hear screams as we ran down the stairs. And don't ask me why we happened to have a floppy w/ naughty pics on it!!

With good reason, no doubt. There's a big difference between harmless fun and starting a scare that may end up costing the school, big time.

Think! Not all teachers know jack diddly about computers! Someone may think it's legit, and get some expensive IT guy to come out and expose the "virus" as a kid's prank. If it gets traced to your logon (which is possible, FYI) then, well... I'd hate to be you.

In short, I applaud your " ***** " teachers who block people like you from being an idiot.

Not only that, but some actual viruses use VBScript, so it's usually a good idea on a shared computer system to turn off VBScript unless you have a really good reason to have it turned on.
