Short Game

Sorry to hear about your poor luck! I was having difficulty too, rerolling several times in a row while playing Inca and getting start posityions without ANY mountains or river hills within eyeshot of 5 turns worth of exploratgion, just vast desert or jungle starts!

I understand how frustrating it can be to dominate a lower difficulty and then move up just a single step & become the AI's proverbial whipping boy for a while! Don't worry, if you get a terrible start, just reroll until you get a more favorable result.

Play the game your way, even though you are trying to get resources in your favor by rerolling, other than your own personal sense of honor or sportsmanship concerning the matter you shouldn't feel required to "make the best of a game no matter what".

Although a chellenging start may over time improve your ability to overcome adversity, when stepping up your game a difficulty level my motto is to at least have an even start so you can learn the new level of AI play.

I hope these words have encouraged you & good luck!

I'm beating prince now pretty consistently. Yet I'm still appalled at the numbers you talk about. I do notice this too. How does the AI get 60 happiness, +350 GPT and zooms right through the tech tree, that is beyond me. I mean, I understand they play at "chieftain" level, but 50 happiness and hundreds of gold per turn? Really?

What do you mean by rerolling? Is there a mod that regenerates the map or something?

Wow, horrible luck. You may want to spend all production on buildigns. I produce very little units from cities and find myself just buying my units. If I pick good social policies and get the natinoal college built right off the bat, I'm able to concentate on other buildings that even out gold, happiness and culture.

Just some tips, I'm not an adfvanced player nad have only become very close to beating prince, lately I've been trying king. But the best way to win is to sell recources. (inecessable in yoru case)
