Shortcut to place signs?

Hey-

I've checked TheMeInTeam on YouTube recently, and there seems to be a way to quickly place a sign on the map (to mark your future cities, for example). The only way I know of is to zoom out, open the strategy layer, click on "new sign" & click the tile. This is very tedious compared to what TMIT is apparently doing.

I've checked the list of shortcuts on the site, and there's no such shortcut listed. So how is it done?

I was expecting an answer like "you need this mod", but yay Alt+s works!

It does not appear in the shortcut list (here). I wonder what other cool shortcut is not listed either.

If you want to mark future city locations, get the BUG mod. It has a dot-mapping feature that is much better than using the signs.

Yeah I keep reading about BUG and I've seen screenshots, but always have been hesitant to use a mod for Civ4.

I often play coop LAN games of Civ- Would it be a problem if I have this mod and my partner does not?

Thanks for the thread guys, I was just about to post a new one ... I'm a bit messed up with the "drawing" functions, could anyone post a brief summary of the different options ?

1) I have the BUG mod and I know the dotmapping Alt-X Alt-M. But I think you can only draw city location and BFCs ... is there anything else ?

2) I also know there's the Strategy Layer Alt-S, but never really figured out how to properly use it: how to draw lines ? how to put signs over tiles, to mark future improvements, or forests to keep ?

There's a way to install it so it only works in single player I think. I have it, and when I play online with my friend the mod doesn't function, but my game seems to work fine.

Is there a way to delete the sign u posted years earlier. I usually mark city sites at the beginning of the game, but once i settle them I don't need the markers anymore.

Yes there is. Putting an empty sign on an existing one will delete it.

As mentioned, Alt-S. Press those keys, click on the tile and a text menu will appear allowing to title it.

You can't. Lines can only be drawn in the strategy map, not on the regular one.

Just press Alt-S and click on the tile again.
