Should I or shouldn't I?

I am currently running CIV III with PTW, but obviously the Conquests version has been out for some time now. I've read all the sales blurb, but what I want to know from people who have played it, is is it worth getting Conquests to replace PTW or not? Does it have many advantages from the scenario-building point of view? What errors/bugs should I be aware of, and what patches are available.

I doubt you will be disappointed. The Conquests forum alone is enough to indicate how well done it is. Basically all the issues that PTW had when it first came out got cleaned up - PTW should never have been released like it was.

Despite playing several of the great Mods here on this forum, the Conquests scenarios themselves are really excellent and show some of the great potential of this game. My particular favorites are the Shogun scenario (I can play it over and over - love the upgradeable Daimyo), the Rise of Rome scenario and the WWII Pacific Scenario (play as China). The early Americas scenario and the Mesopotamia are pretty good. Despite several attempts I've still not gotten a really great game out of the Age of Discovery, Fall of Rome or the Napoleonic Europe scens.

I agree that Conquest is a bunch better than PTW. If you don't like it come back and fuss at all of us.

Conquests does not physically replace PTW, it adds a seperate executable file. This means you can go back and play a game with PTW rules (or vanilla civ3 for that matter) at any time by running the other .exe file.

Of course if you meant 'replace' as in which version you will be playing most often, you won't be disappointed with C3C. I play all my epic games in C3C and I would only use PTW for playing GOTM/SGOTM.
