A question for some of you gurus ... I've recently installed Firefox and have been playing around with it. And I see a lot of references to Add-Ons, Plug-ins, extensions, and helper apps. What is the difference between these 4 entities? Or are they just different names for the same thing? And what exactly are they or what do they do?
Add-Ons & Extensions are the same thing. They new add features to Firefox
Plug-ins are basically application extensions for your Firefox, mainly used to play multimedia content directly in the browser. Type "aboutlugins" in the address bar to see which plug-ins you have installed
