Raping people or molesting children is inhumane. I'll side with their victims over them and say they should be castrated, whether physically or chemically matters not to me.

We are better than them. Imprison them, and detest them. Do not sink to their level.

Besides, there is always the chance we've got the wrong man, which is why we (Britain at least) gave up corperal punishment a long time ago.

I think that this is not a just punishment, we must not sink to their level.

However, some sex offenders feel burdened by their problem and would like it to go away. I think that voluntary castration (physical, it is more effective than chemical from what I have heard) should be allowed in exchange for a lighter sentence.

Good point:Remove their ovaries, might piss them off just as much? Depends on the woman I guess. And another good point from Truronian how do we recompense those who we falsely acuse, grow 'em a new set?

I don't particularly care for the "we can't be bad like them argument." I think of the victims and how much pain and suffering they have/had to go through and what is a fitting punishment for the sex offender. Castration is one of the nicer things I had in mind.
